We had a sudden tragic death in the family and wanted it to be the most beautiful funeral for my sister. We met with the funeral director Jake g. He was able to help us plan the most amazing funeral while comforting all of us. They were very understanding with all requests we had and very accommodating of all of the guests as well. On top of the phenomenal service the place is gorgeous, not dark and Erie like other funeral homes. Also after the funeral going to pick up everything was super easy, they had everything together for us to sort through and pick up. Going through such a terrible time I’m glad we chose Michigan memorial. I will never take a loved one to another funeral home. It’s beautiful and the staff is amazing and know how to make such a difficult time a little easier.
I can’t say enough on how grateful I am to both the Michigan Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery. They made what was a hard time in the lives of my mom, sister, and I a smooth transition for when we lost our father and most recently for my sister and I when our mother passed. Both times we made all the arrangements from room selection, casket, floral, cemetery wall, and music/order of service within a few hours for both their going home services. They helped us get the financials in order and make the best selections for the type of service we wanted for our parents. We wanted to bring church to their facility and we were allowed to do so. Being able to have everything done in one location with their help provided us with such a stress relief in what has been the worst and most confusing time of our lives. I’m so grateful for all they did to make sure we had exactly what we wanted for our mother in regards to the white horse and coach selection we had for her and most of all we were so pleased that both our parents looked liked themselves. In the past we’ve been to funeral services where our loved ones didn’t look like themselves. Most times being people of color it’s hard to keep our skin tones accurate. Our mother was very fair with a warm golden tone and our father was more of a caramel tone. The mortician captured them both beautifully. In the past we’ve had loved ones look bloated or “boxy”. Both our parents who varied greatly in size dad was 6’3 ft and 380+ lbs and mom was 5’2 ft and 128 lbs looked exactly as they did in life. It was as if nothing happened. They were both themselves. Our beloved parents as I remember them and all our other family members couldn’t help but compliment how good they looked. I have loved ones buried at a cemetery in Warren and it’s a nightmare every year we visit with the lack of care to the headstones. They literally just drive a large mower over all and though we visit every year I always have a lot of clean-up and digging to do before we can pay our respects, but not at Michigan Memorial. Though we went with a wall option for our parents our grandfather who was buried on the grounds in 96’ still looks practically new. No overgrowth or dirty headstone and I noticed this for others as well. When we visit it’s a beautiful and peaceful place with many trees, sculptures, swans, and the peace of nature. We can truly be with our loved ones and pay our respects. I am beyond thankful for this and highly recommended all their services.
Even though it a difficult path to have to walk when you lose a loved one. Michigan Memorial Funeral Home services makes it an easy as it can be. With the personal touch’s and the deep understanding of your situation they do their very best to help your make the best decisions for you and your loved one. I just lost my mom in September and her and my dad are laid to rest, side by side, at Michigan Memorial. It is a beautiful setting, and so well maintained. I couldn't have asked for more kind and compassionate care during both of my parents arrangements and funerals. When you are grieving it means so much!
My experience with michigan memorial was above my expectations, Theresa was our director, she showed my family such compassion, we unexpectedly lost our mother, the Care, love and compassion that she extended to us was as if she had known us for years, she laid out all of our options her job but never did she make us feel the need to purchase more then what we wanted, Michigan Memorial allowed us to view our mom one last time before the cremation took place, They took care of everything, since the death of mom, Theresa and Elizabeth have reached out to see how we are doing, mom passed in late September, a couple of days ago I received a text from Theresa and Elizabeth asking how we were doing, how challenging this time of grieving and healing can be the holidays These ladies at Michigan Momerial truly care. I highly recommend these ladies in your time of loss and sorrow.
Michigan Memorial did an excellent job in all aspects of the funeral arrangements and completion. The personnel were extremely professional as well as sensitive to everyone’s situation. I would wholeheartedly recommend them.
Jake and his team helped us get thru this extremely difficult time dealing with the loss of our aunt. We are thankful that we took the time to make many of the arrangements a couple of years ahead of time which made the process much less stressful. We highly recommend working with the folks at Michigan Memorial. They were always professional and available.
The staff at Michigan Memorial goes above and beyond expectations at a time when a family is much in need of support and assistance. I truly appreciate everything they did when my mom recently passed away.

I just got a survey in the mail from this place who somehow found out my mom had passed away, they say it is "to better serve the community", but it's really just an advertisement for their services. At the bottom it says "This survey is part of a general distribution to your neighborhood. Please accept our apologies if this survey reaches you in time of grief or illness." I was so upset I went down the street and asked every single one of my neighbors if they got one of these, and guess what? They didn't. This business uses predatory practices, avoid them.
