They do not return emails or calls! Parent and student concerns or issues are not addressed. I have never dealt with a school that so unprofessional or reliable! Been waiting waiting since 12/18 for a return call from the principal! I have left additional voice messages and sent emails! Still no response! We will not be return next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This school is convenient and meets the minimum standards if all your child needs is high school credit. However, If your child is attending this school because they are a competitive athlete beware - MVCA says they are NCAA accredited but it is not quite true. They fall under the umbrella of accreditation of the larger organization but coursework from MCVA is not accepted by the NCAA for eligibility. This is a serious omission in their claims that has caused some significant issues for my family. MCVA should not be able to make a claim they are NCAA accredited when their coursework is not accepted and their school is on a review list with the NCAA.

My oldest daughter attended MVCA for 7 years. We pulled her out in favor of traditional homeschool just before Thanksgiving. This is shown as an individualized, self-paced option. It is not. My daughter (6th grade) was scheduled for 6-8 hours of Class Connects (teacher-directed video) a day, then still expected to log into each of her courses after that (4-6 hours a day). This is a minimum 10 hours a day. She was constantly stressed, feeling overwhelmed, and depressed about school, and not learning. 

My younger daughter (Kindergarten) was advanced in English/Language Arts. We were told she could not work ahead at all, even though she was able to read and they were just beginning the steps to reading. We've now had her assessed with another program and she is doing first grade English/Language Arts, as she should have been with this program. 

MVCA isn't setting children up for Educational success. It's bare bones, just to get by and say the school is following the rules.

My family and I really love MVCA.  They are the most supportive, caring, knowledgeable and flexible staff we've ever worked with.  Keep up the fantastic work, MVCA!
