I was driving my 06 Rav-4 Toyota and it was jerking/shaking when I pushed the accelerator pedal. This was very irritating , for (2) days ago my vehicle was inspected/serviced by Cabe Toyota, a dealership in Long Beach. I called the Cabe Toyota of Long Beach and was advised to schedule an appointment to the service department, which I booked for the next morning. After an 10 1/4 hour wait from 7:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., the Toyota manager told me that my transmission is faulty and needs replacing. I was hit with a $2656.37 price to replace the transmission and reprogram my car computer system. Why didn't they know this two (2) days ago? I told them it will have to wait, for I wanted a second opinion. I decided not to tell the next Mechanic shop nothing about the Toyota dealership experience. Midwest Auto Care is where I went/met Mechanic Will, he inspected and tested my car not only with diagnostic equipment but researching ASE specific manuals that is connected with my vehicle pertaining to the problems I was facing. After (1) hour, Will told me that oil was leaking into my spark plugs and I need a valve cover gasket and minor tune-up. The total cost was $ 280.00 and my 04 Rav-4 ran like a Champion! Respect to Will at Midwest Auto Care, not only did he save me money but gave me the option to obtain parts elsewhere, once the work is going to be completed there. Will knows what he's doing and is ASE certified and keeps up with the latest in the Automotive Repair World. There are many people that can fix cars but Midwest Auto Care really does "CARE" about the Customer and Performance of a person's vehicle. Sincerely, Niah

This is how our business transpired, facts: My 2015 Mazda 3 was making faint clicking noise when accelerating and decelerating around 1st gear. I Googled the problem and read through several forums, common answers were lose nuts/bolts, cv joints, and faulty axle. I took my vehicle to a local mechanic, Midwest Auto, and was introduced to Atkinson Williams, who goes by Will. I drove him around the block to identify the source of the noise, then we took the vehicle back to his shop where it was lifted above 6 feet for inspection. After Will and his crew inspected my vehicle, he confirmed that the problem was my right front axle and hub bearing. Will gave me a price of $922 ($459.51 Axle, $194.48 hub, Tax $58.86, labor $210). At first, I was reluctant to accept because I wanted to get another quote elsewhere, but due to my busy schedule on that particular day, I could not find time. I paid everything up front. 3 days later. Luckily, Will had not ordered the parts. I discovered that the axle and hub bearing were covered under Mazda Powertrain warranty. Awesome! I immediately cancelled my transaction with Midwest Auto. Originally, Will stated he was going to charge me $80 for the shipping (that was fine, it was my mistake for not checking the warranty). Instead, I was charged $85 for a diagnostic fee, (like Elsa, I decided to “Let it Go” since I was the one who initiated our business) sunk cost I figured. I was refunded $837. Took my vehicle to South Bay Mazda and they ran a full diagnostic. They determined that the lug nuts and the right front axle nut was loose. Axles and hub bearings ere fine. Total cost $119. Shout out to South Bay Mazda for the car wash and cleansing my interior :) . Receipts images from Midwest Auto and South Bay Mazda are included. Opinion: It says “Factory trained mechanics” on their business card. I was tempted to give them 1 star for their swindle maneuver, but I oblige the additional star for the possibility that it was an honest mistake, albeit a mistake in the difference of $800 dollars is puzzling, especially for “Factory trained mechanics.” I emailed them for a refund on the $85. I’d be happy to retract my reviews if/when I get refunded. The amount is not worth anyone’s time at a small claim’s court. Advice: Read your warranty! Seriously, ask a lot of questions prior to giving any untested mechanic your business. Get as many quotes as you need, and do your research. Best of luck.
