Nice restaurant in South Pasadena Hostess was very welcoming, set us up at the bar while we waited for our friends to arrive. Neat restaurant. Warm cozy lighting. Energetic vibe. I would like to see it in the daytime. Wait staff was very attentive and friendly. My food was so so. I had the lamb ragu. It came recommended. Good beer selection. We skipped dessert and went next door for ice cream, only because we had kids with us. I would have like to try it there. I would return and give the food another shot. Everything else was 5 stars.

I live down the street and really wanted to make this place a regular spot, however after receiving terrible service from their host/hostess repeatedly, I've decided to woman-cott them. Their food is very tasty and the atmosphere is great, but the service/wait time is awful. M&A does not accept reservations for less than 8, so if you're a "smallish" party of 4 or less, your wait time is ridiculously long. I wouldn't mind waiting except that there are always several tables available, which the host swears are unavailable, yet one of them always ends up being our table. What the restaurant doesn't realize is they can make more money if they simply sat their customers on a "need-basis" rather than trying to make their restaurant more "exclusive" by making their customers wait when there are available tables.

The challah French toast is yummy! And the beet hash is interesting and very Californian. Has a nice shady patio for people who want to sit outside. Has high chairs/booster seats for the kids so family friendly. Coffee is ok.

Looking for charming spot to have brunch or dinner on a nice day? This is a great spot that has plenty of outdoor and indoor seating (if the weather is too cold/rainy). The service is friendly and quick as well. The mushroom risotto was exquisite for dinner and the ricotta pancakes for brunch made my heart swell. If your going for brunch, they make a great bloody mary! Plenty of street parking and amidst the charming stores in South Pasadena. Just watch the signs for street parking, they are quick to ticket if you are past the parking time limit!

My Jidori chicken dinner was full of flavor $$. I have eaten breakfast here as well, and if I'm in town again I definitely would eat here again, but remember when in Pasadena Cali, there is a lot other choices as well.
