Story

Chef Sammy Davis is one of the best culinary artists this country has to offer. His triumphs include a feature in Baltimore Magazine in which he was coined "One of the best Chefs to watch out for!"

His mass appeal throughout the city of Boston led to insurmountable fame. He would later display his skillset on "Chopped!", a televised cooking show made popular through the Food Network.

Davis made two appearances on the hit T.V. show, competing as a finalist during his first series, and later demolishing the competition during his second appearance. After facing defeat, Davis utilized his setback to garner a major comeback.

Once finishing as a Chopped Champion, Davis went on to win "D.C.'s Best Main Dish", a competition solely focused on the flavor of a single plate. Davis entered his mouth-watering, southern inspired dish Shrimp and Grits into the competition, leaving judges stunned by his abilities, subsequently propelling him to higher career heights.

Chef Sammy manages to take you on a trip around the globe; all in this quaint café on a busy intersection in Beltsville, MD.

Too small of a space. The floor was slippery and the table was wobbly. I had a party of two, we waited for an hour and a half to be seated.. and after being seated, we sat at the table with four other people. All of this was not that bad because we were expecting the wait. Also, the people at the table were nice and everyone was getting along .. The thing that killed my entire appetite was, I was placed at the table next to the kitchen... at in the kitchen...I observed bare hands all over the food.... multiple hands just touching the food that was being served directly to the tables. I seen an open red bull can right next to where they were picking up chicken and placing it on top of meals. I am extremely cautious about people touching my food, especially during flu season..and the outside drink made me think of spit on the can and them touching my food. it turned me completely off so much I was disgusted. I stopped eating.. I threw the leftovers away. I can not.... I strongly encourage when handling food that is being served to the customers, to be handled with gloves on. Also, keep outside food and drinks outside of the kitchen!

Great food. Prices range from very affordable to slightly pricey, depending on what you order. Small, but cozy. It can be hard to find, I recommend using Kenny's Subs as a landmark. The staff was very friendly. You may have to wait, it gets busy quickly and there's no waiting area inside. They are willing to give you a call as soon as your table is ready though.

The chef is creative. The food is flavored and seasoned just right and you NEVER leave unsatisfied. I've had two breakfast meetings at Milk & Honey in the last 30 days. This is my favorite place to dine in the morning. Definitely try to crab hash or the other breakfast foods. The food is delicious. I can almost guarantee, you won't eat lunch.

My husband and I got to Milk and Honey around 8:45am today (Fri) and there was a 30 min wait. We went back to the car and received a text saying our table was ready about 30 min later. When we got back inside, the hostess said she accidentally sent us a text and our table was not ready. We went back outside and waited another 10 min or so. I was a bit irritated but she was very apologetic which I appreciated and things do happen. Now to the FOOD....Jesus, Mary and Joseph! The food is nothing less than PHENOMENAL. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits..slap ya mama good. I had the crab hash...slap ya mama and daddy good! There really aren’t many words to describe how good the food was besides INCREDIBLE. A side of bacon was $3.50 and we literally got 9 pieces of bacon in one order. Amazing! I kept seeing bad reviews about service but our server was very nice and attentive. I was thoroughly impressed. I wouldn’t dare go back on a weekend because I know for a fact that I’d be stressed out and upset since the place is so tiny but that food will definitely have me back early morning on a weekday.

If you decide to dine here for brunch please prepare for a hour to 1.5 hour wait. I I'm updating my post from the 1 star! But I have several tips for improving your service. 1. Allow for online or over the reservations. 2. Text notification should update customer as to how many people are ahead of them. 3. When someone calls the general number voice could inform customer of possible wait time. 4. Customer should be able to cancel spot over the phone. Now that my better business tips are out of the way. 😊 After I wrote my original post, the setting notification text came. I was outside, so I decided to continue as planned! I enjoyed the Deep Fried Salmon Hash, if you like Cajun pasta you will enjoy this dish! Well, without the pasta, your starch is potato hash on a bed of sauteed spinach. I highly recommend it.
