Hands down the best BBQ I have had in a long time!!! The owners are a lovely mother and daughter who obviously put a lot of love into the food. They prove how important their patrons are to them by making you feel at home as soon as you walk in the door. If you are looking to eat amazing food and support a Black Female owed and operated establishment, this is where you want to go. These ladies know how to do it right. If I ever decided to become a vegetarian, I would still go back just for the fried pickles and the Mac and cheese. After eating there for the first time, I ate there again 4 days later before heading out of town to visit family. I plan on going back when I get back to town.
Guys, you need to check it out! Black woman owned, family operated this hidden gem of Lowell is worth admiring! My hubby and I had amazing Friday dinner there!
Got the chicken and waffles and it was just okay. Chicken had good flavor but not very crispy for fried chicken. The waffle fell apart with every bite once the syrup touched it, syrup they gave was generic cafeteria maple syrup.
We had a little bit of everything. Pulled pork, ribs , fried chicken. It was all fantastic! Loved the greens. Best BBQ I've had in a long time. The owner made us feel like we were coming in to her house... so nice !!! I'll be back!Food: 5/5
Smoked bbq ribs to die for! Deep smoke flavor, falling off the bone, fatty bits were amazing! Amazing sauce. Also excellent sides. Our first time getting food there take-out and we loved it. We’ll be back. The restaurant looked incredibly welcoming and the patrons all looked happy. Good signs for a successful eatery.Recommended dishesSmoked BBQ Ribs
The waitstaff came over with a smile and ice-cold bottle of water. We ordered some great BBQ. A glass of wine was only $5. There is room for improvement. My wife asked for a non-alcoholic drink and was served a hard cider. I tried to pay in cash but there wasn't enough change.
First time patron. Got takeout and went specifically for the brisket and greens which they were out of as it was a Sunday. Husband got rib tips which were really good. My son got the fried chicken which he loved, and I tried the bbq chicken which was excellent. I need to mention that I'm not one for chicken legs, but Mill City BBQ is the exception!! Coleslaw was fresh and the cornbread/muffins were really good as well. I also need to mention that family members have food allergies and we were all able to eat off the menu with no restrictions! Host/owner was friendly as well as the staff. Will be a return patron to try the brisket and greens, and we will spread the word about this place!
Loved the pulled pork sandwich! The use of simple paper towels for napkins, water bottles is nice in my opinion. Food tasted amazing as well.Food: 5/5
Great experience and awesome bbq. Tried the smoked chicken which came as 4 moist, delish chicken legs. Fried chicken came as huge boneless pieces - also moist and terrific. Added the beef brisket to our combo for $7 more - also tremendous. Sides were wonderful, too - baked beans, Mac and cheese, and sweet potato fries light as a feather and dusted with honey. Four sauces to try - Carolina, sweet pineapple, house, and hot and spicy. Great service. Recently moved near Blue Talleh. Parking a bit tough but worth the trip.
A shrine to tasty meats! They make several sauces: hot, Carolina gold, house, and sweet pineapple. We liked the hot and house best. We had chicken wings, smoked sausage, and pulled pork. The meat was all very juicy and delicious. Sides were fresh and good. We ended with an excellent coconut cake. Service was quick and really friendly. The dining room was clean and nice. Pr8ces are reasonable. We'll definitely be going back.
