I never write reviews on anything. I felt I needed to with what I experienced though. I am a perfectionist. It can be a good thing sometimes and a bad thing other times. I ordered a rental book through MBS Direct services. I looked up what I could do with the book as far as writing and highlighting go. I took very good care of the book and had no highlighting. I did circle a few answers in the chapter question sections, but it did not come close to excessive writing or notes. They claimed that my book was returned with damage. As I said, I am a perfectionist. Before I sent the book back, I made sure it was packaged nicely and in good condition. So, this was very frustrating. I contacted them via email, and I was told it was due to excessive writing and notes made in the textbook. The definition of “excessive” must vary greatly from one person to the next, I guess. They then apologized and said they will be charging me for replacement fees. It’s comical, because my book was in perfectly good condition and presentable for the next customer. What I’m trying to say is go through Chegg or some other site instead.
State says they're essential!! It's an extremely easy job, whether slow or fast. Yeah it's hot, it's a warehouse, and books are insulators. Theres really slow times and theres times you cant keep up. But! There so many good benefits, and any book lover will be introduced to titles they wouldnt normally look for!
Great place to work! The management staff are very friendly and don't walk around with a "holier than thou" attitude. They listen to their employees and respond to situations accordingly. Hands down one of the best work environments I've been a part of. There are all sorts of events throughout the year to boost morale and honor employee performance. They even host fundraisers throughout the year that benefit local charities. Typically those that work here don't leave and it is very easy to see why!
They state that they Guarantee Buyback on their page before you buy books. then make you pay over 300% of the books value, then after you try and sell them back at the end of the semester they do not buy them back after all. they pull in with Fraud and falsehoods and then laugh at you all the way to the bank.
I sold two used books that I had not purchased through them and received the money back quickly. No problems at all and a very easy process.
I think they have more books there than anyone really needs.
