Story

MOD Pizza serves up individual artisan-style pizzas and salads made on demand. Customers can design their own pizzas and salads or select from a menu of MOD classics. All are the same price regardless of toppings. The handcrafted pizzas are then fired in our 800 degree display oven and ready to eat in less than 5 minutes. MOD also offers milkshakes, house-made iced teas and lemonades, local craft beer and wine, and more.

MOD Pizza is a chain of over 200 restaurants across the country specializing in fast and casual pizzas. Their Cincinnati location has been open about a year in Oakley Station. Another location will be opening soon in Anderson's Cherry Grove Plaza Shopping Center. There is also a location on Liberty Way in West Chester. Orders are placed at the counter. The first decision is whether to have a pizza or a salad. Either way an individual serving size will set you back $7.77. You can choose from 10 signature pizzas, three salads, or create your own. They use a gas-fired oven to cook at 800 degrees in a matter of minutes. When orders are ready the staff will call out your name for you to pick it up from just outside the kitchen area. During my visit the restaurant was not too crowded and my order was ready just moments after I collected a local draft beer and found a place to sit. For my lunch visit I went with the Caspian pizza with mozzarella, Gorgonzola, BBQ chicken, barbecue sauce, and sliced red onions. The sweet sauce complimented the tangy cheese very well. The pizza was cooked perfectly, with just the slightest bit of char on the edges of the crust. This was a really good pizza and I look forward to trying some other creations soon.

There's nothing fancy about Mod. But I'm writing this review upon the realization that Mod has become the pizza joint that I compare all other compare joints to. For a single low price, you get good, brick oven pizza with all the ingredients you want. They even cater to my vegan diet with vegan dough and cheese. I literally can't ask for anything more. It's a simple, yet perfect model. I love Mod so much.

Toppings, toppings, toppings! Brick oven pizza is the best way to cook a pie...cooks it hot and fast. Good crust; for a bit more - $2.00 they will double the crust and make it thicker. Very pleasant sauce. Cannot beat the price of $7.97 (11 inch) as many toppings as you wish. All those toppings make for healthy and, dare I say, almost gormet salads. Milk shakes, flavored teas and lemonades along with coke products. Their pizza bread with dipping sauces is very delicious. Clean restrooms and floors. Nice patio for outside dining in warmer months.

It's okay. The crust, which they say was their claim to fame, wasn't very good. It was kind of dry and wasn't very soft. The sauce was alright, they offer a really good variety of toppings. The size of pizza was good, toppings weren't generous but I got enough to make me happy. Price was probably a $1 more than what I would pay given similar choices. Employees weren't very friendly or welcoming, my wife had hair in her food from one of the girls on the food line (pretty obvious since she had dreads and the hair was tattered). Overall all not the greatest pizza, still better than some of the other chains. Blaze would be a big step up from this in my opinion.

Walked in for the first time ever, ordered my pizza. Here is a list of things that went wrong. 1) when adding the pesto sauce and spinach to the pizza the young man was EXTREMELY light handed as if each ounce of pesto was coming out of his pay check or something. 2) I got feta cheese and mozzarella. The feta cheese were in HUGE Peices. Like seriously do you guys not own a shredder? 3) the pizza was cut into 4 slices by someone who was obviously too lazy to cut it into the normal 8 4) I wanted a side of blue cheese and so the women had to make it, you know with the tiny sauce container and squeeze the blue cheese out the bottle. Well let’s just say the blue cheese was obviously finished. She was literally tapping the counter with the bottle trying to get tiny droplets of blue cheese, which by the way filled that tiny sauce container only 1/4...... but wait then she looks at me and says “ is this going to be enough?” I kindly smiled and said no it’s not. So she had to go to the back and bring out another bottle. Overall the pizza was not too bad but not really good. I’m going to try my luck over at Blaze’s pizza next time. This was my first and will be my last.
