About

A authentic moldovan restaurant created to surprise you with new tastes.

Story

Moldova – a landlocked country situated in Eastern Europe.

Due to its tumultuous history under different regimes, names and occupations, Moldova has a rich cultural tapestry, the cuisine being a main component of the transition. With influences from its neighbors: Romania and Ukraine, a little from Turkey and Bulgaria, some from Russia and even the Mediterranean countries, Moldovan cuisine offers a variety of tastes and flavors.

With spices, herbs and various types of produce and meats, our dishes combine these flavors to create real masterpieces, giving an incredible result for a well-balanced meal.

Embark with us on a journey to a new culinary experience.

It's a very disappointed update of the restaurant after they've been opened for a year. The restaurant has semi authentic southeastern/Balkan cuisine compared to some other Balkan restaurants in Boston area. The pies used to be very good, but now are just soggy. They are beyond understaffed all the time during busy hours and very inefficient. Table waiting time during lunch and dinner hours for a group with 3 or more ppl will be over 45min. Meal waiting time will be over half hour. Menu is very tiny and they haven't change at all, I have come here multiple times and ordered the same things already. Also, they definitely went down on quality. The Sarmale dish no longer has the grape leaves kind and there are way less meat in it, mainly just rice and potato. I used to give good review when they first open, but now they should take their business more serious and efficient. Don't try to be cheap; go hire more servers.

Recently opened. Friendly atmosphere. Pleased with the quality and authenticity of the food. I think the only place in the Boston area to get authentic foods from Moldova. Friendly service. Will go back.

The "lady" owner has got an evil eye and a temper of the "Communist era" food service worker. If you ever had a chance to experience, the now nostalgic perils of the Soviet era food "service", then you know that yelling, screaming, and abusing your customers is considered "normal" and is nothing to scoff at, .... well in the former soviet union that is. The lady owner can sometimes be "pretend-nice", but she can also be very rude and snappy. Does not strike me as a nice, kind person, quite the opposite actually, and I feel like she should not play the role of a hostes or a waitress due to her unfriendly personality and obvious character flaws. Passive aggressive attitude is what we often experienced at this place from both owners. My feeling is that they often resent many of their customers for not ordering wine, using groupon, and other such things. On one occasion we were ignored for 15 minutes, after we asked for water and my wife has politely declined wine. That's right, the water was not brought to us for 15 minutes, until my wife had to remind the lady owner that we in fact have asked for water and would like to order some food. Still, we continued going there hoping they would change their attitude and see the light. My father likes Russian/Moldovan cuisine and my wife is Romanian so she also liked their food. -- That was the reason why I was willing to give them a chance to change their tune and start treating us in a more-friendly manner. Despite tipping over 20% on every visit there, the unfriendly, passive aggressive service persisted, until the lady totally snapped at us one day and unleashed in a way that would be inappropriate to recount here. I blame their rudeness and passive aggressive attitude on cultural differences. After all, the rudeness of food service workers in the former soviet block was notorious, and you can sense small remnants of it at this joint. Other than that, the food is quite good, some 70% of the time. Sometimes their food would not taste so great because it would be reheated based on the way it tastes and texture. So the timing matters for your experience and perception. Pasties are good, but the portion sizes are too small and def. way overpriced. Oh yeah, now let's get ready for the owner calling my review a hate speech and what a shame it is, as if it's my fault that they resent many of their customers or have bad attitude and are not understanding how to properly treat their clients. I believe they asked for my Yelp review to be removed calling it a hate speech. Well, Yelp is notoriously corrupt, so I am posting this review here for all to see.
