Story

Paddy’s Pub, the second restaurant owned and operated by the O’Hara family, opened its doors in 2002. Named Paddy’s in honor of the patriarch of the O’Hara family, whose middle name is Patrick (although he would tell you it was named for his grandson if you asked him). Formerly the Troubadour Restaurant, it was completely renovated to the O’Hara’s’ high standards before it made its debut on July 15th. The mahogany bar, warm and friendly atmosphere, combined with the already well known food offered at O’Hara’s in Newton Highlands, made for a winning combination; soon making Paddy’s a popular spot with people of all ages. Paddy’s has become known for its delicious and freshly prepared menu items, and the friendliness and competence of its servers. While the atmosphere encourages you to come in and offers a sense of comfort and well-being, the dining experience at Paddy’s encourages you to come back again and again.

Been coming here for 13 years, the fish and chips are amazing, the chili is incredible, basically you can't go wrong with the food, and the service is amazing. The environment of the restaurant and pub is the perfect place for a family meal with kids, or a casual lunch or a date night. Can't say enough good things about this place!

Visited with friends for a quick dinner. Food was great and service was fantastic! Our waitress was really personable and friendly, she was the owner's cousin and we had a great conversation with her while we were eating. The restaurant is very cozy inside and we felt right at home as soon as we went in. We will definitely be back.

Establishment doesn't take reservations. Usually busy. Enjoyed their buffalo shrimp appetizer. Salad portions were quite generous. Many local taps. Personal preference, would like to see more remote flavors.

This was my first time there since they renovated a few months ago. The ambience is much nicer, although it was ok before. The food that my wife and I ordered was pretty much comfort food, but it was really good. I had chicken stuffed with spinach, broccoli and cheese. The chicken was cooked perfectly. My wife had a white sauce Pizza with cauliflower and cheese . Both were extremely tasty. They also have a nice beer selection. We were hungry after a mountain hike, and this really hit the spot.

I really have to say, I cant stand this place. I work in Waltham and a lot of colleagues like to go here for lunch. The lunch service is terrible. If you sit down at 12:10 you wont get your food until 12:50 most days. I've been there several times and timed it. It doesn't matter what you get - sandwich, bowl of soup, pizza, - it all takes way too long. The seating area is cramped and uninviting. Maybe if this restaurant were on Charles street in Beacon Hill I could understand, but its in Waltham.... Plus side is that the food is decent when you finally get it and they have good half-pickled pickles. Might be a better place for dinner than lunch.
