New ownership of a classic Pittsburgh pizza shop located in the south hills part of the city. This review is a comparison of the new vs what it was a year ago. I purchased a Large 16inch half pepperoni half cheese. I was told the price was $19 and when is arrived it was $21. Not the best way to start even though the delivery person was very nice. The goods, its better than its neighbor and the friendliness of the staff. The pizza is edible. The bad, tough and no fluff crust. It was tough to bite, probably needs more yeast and a warmer H2O temp or possibly a little time for the dough to rise. The cut was all over the place. Some large, some small. A little more sauce and better cheese would make this pizza a 4 vs a 3 star. Overall, will I eat from Molly's Pizza again...Yes. I aware that there is new ownership and that the local establishment needs time to perfect after being closed for amount of time. Should you try Molly's Pizza, well that's up to you.
One of the worst experiences I've had in my life. Sunday early evening I ordered a dozen and a 1/2 of mild Buffalo wings.. The sauce wasn't even on them it was literally at the bottom of the container and it wasn't even mixed. Takes 2 minutes to shake up some wings .What didn't they want to dirty a bowl? The second thing I noticed . I didn't have not one wing in the dozen. NOT ONE! The half dozen had 2. In what world do you spend almost $30 on 20 wings and only get 2. The sauce was terrible.. I bought ranch and I asked for extra and I didnt get any extra. As far as that experience goes I know that myself and the 2 other people that were with me will never order from there again.
The food was absolutely horrible. Everything ordered was burnt and tasted terrible. For what the food cost as well as the generous tip I left, there is no excuse for the quality of the food. The perogies pizza was as thin as paper with barely any toppings. The Sicilian pizza was gummy with completely burnt edges. The spinach feta roll was so salty and the dough was thought to be made of pretzel dough it was so dark. Only giving 1 star because it's making give a star to post.
Ordered some pizza, wings, and a sub on New Year's Eve. Everything came out great, especially the wings. There are other reviews complaining that the crust isn't 'fluffy' enough. It isn't supposed to be, it's crispy New York style crust and it's perfect as-is.
I avoid posting negative reviews about local businesses, but due to the issues I've had with Molly's in Dormont, I've been encouraged to share this experience. I want to preface this by saying I like Molly's pizza and the "ala carte" wings although NOT the small wings. Over the past several months, my orders were wrong, so I eventually stopped ordering. Earlier this week, I decided to try one of their salads. I ordered without onions, green peppers and tomatoes. Not only was the order incorrect, but to top it off, they didn't send dressing. I left a message with an employee to ask the manager to phone me. Although it took longer than it should have, eventually I did get a call from the manager. I explained the issue with the wings and why I stopped ordering them, to which she stated something to the effect that "ok, so we don't need to talk about the wings, since you're never going to order them." I tried to explain that I LIKE the wings and WANT to order them, but I want my order to be right! I then explained about the salad...this was the final straw.... She said "if I ask my cook if he added onions, peppers and tomatoes and he said he didn't, then it's HIS work against YOURS!" Omg, right? If I was a constant complainer, or irate, I can understand that perhaps the manager had a bad day and just reacted poorly. However, neither are the case. Anyway, it's just sad and frustrating and I did not deserve the treatment I received.
Food aside, the way I saw a delivery driver acting and speaking to the very sweet and patient girl working the counter this evening, I would absolutely never support them with my business again. cajun steak hoagie was thin, bland, and dry.
The best wings in town!! Wish they were packaged in something more sturdy ss they leak but such good pizza and sides. Ranch is phenomenal.
The Employees were very knowledgeable and welcoming. The pizza by the slice was perfectly baked , crispy without burnt crust and perfect sauce and the cheese was amazing. I will return
We ordered for delivery a pizza split between ham and green peppers and pepperoni. Polite service, arrived early and the pizza was perfect. Temperature was on point and the crust was crispy. Definitely would recommend.
Ok so never order the onion rings from there they charge 6.99 for them and you get 6. That is more than. Dollar a ring. It's highway robbery. When I called the manager was apologitic but did not off any explanation othere that they are sold by weight. Not sure how much six onion rings can weigh but it's kind of a rip off. I had had trouble with Molly's in the past but decided to give them another chance but never again. The food is not worth what they charge.
