I gave this 3 stars mostly because it is a very quick visit. Seeing the butterflies is fantastic and I would recommend viewing them with some type of zoom lens. They had a couple telescopes there, but they were shared by a lot of people. Parking is along a busy street, so drop kids or people in need off before parking. Both parking and viewing is free. Their are also tour times posted. I am not sure if there is a charge for tours. This was a nice 15 to 20 minute visit.

This park is amazing. It's so peaceful. We found it interesting and there were docents there to answer any questions we had. Go when the butterflies are there and if you have kids take them. It's a really cool place to go and relax and enjoy nature.

Was not what I expected.  Not a park but walking paths through eucalyptus grove.  There is a docent teaching about the monarchs and butterflies galore. Totally worth it.  We took a path down to the ocean where there were beautiful wind shaped trees that we took photos of the kids sitting in.

This is a quick stop for a unique experience if you're in Pismo Beach during the wintering season (October through February). The eucalyptus trees are covered with the  butterflies. There are helpful guides and various signs available to answer questions. Access is free. Parking is roadside on Route 1, so be careful. There are portable restrooms available.

Beautiful place, unlike anything I've seen before. Great place for a stroll and awesome views of the butterflies overwintering habits. I even got to witness a courting match! Too bad one didn't land on my dog's nose. That would've been the cutest photo op.
