Moonshot Museum
"Moonshot Museum is Pennsylvania's first space museum and a unique living lab where you can get closer to the work of space than almost anywhere else on the planet. Through a partnership with Pittsburgh-based Astrobotic, an innovative space robotics company, visitors can peek behind the scenes to witness spacecraft being built through floor-to-ceiling windows! But it doesn't end there—embark on unforgettable simulated lunar missions inspired by real industry challenges and meet up space professionals right here in Mission Control Pittsburgh."

Pretty cheap to visit but just know it is small, it's a one room museum but it was totally worth it. Really cool spot with interactive space stuff for adults or kids. You can also watch them build stuff in the clean room - they were finishing up a moon rover when we were there. Great staff that answered questions and explained stuff. FYI no food/cafeteria and parking is limited but there's street parking nearby and the casino
A very cool museum with lots of fun interactive exhibits that are great for all ages! The highlight is that the museum’s shared space with Astrobotic allows you to observe real spacecraft being built before your eyes inside their clean room.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitPrice for adult entry$6–10
Interesting 10min movie to begin and then just one room of things to see/do. Coloring, scavenger hunt, books, interactive activities for kids. Plan on just being there average 1.5 hours. Very friendly and knowlegable staff. I believe you can watch them work through the glass during the week.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
This museum was super cool. Small but mighty. A lot of interactive exhibits for children and parents! Great field trip spot for schools. Definitely cool to see Pittsburgh in the space game!!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$6–10
Fascinating museum and fun for all ages! My boyfriend and I went with out parents and we all found it fascinating. It's a small museum but a lot of interesting information is packed in here. To really capitalize on your experience, talk to the volunteers about the work being done right here in Pittsburgh.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
If you are an adult, this museum is a total joke and the waste of time to get there and your $10 admission fee : It has nothing except some information boards and a table to paint for kids. You can finish the whole thing in less than 5 min only a 10 min show at the beginning slows you down. I would recommend this for people with very young kids, but not really worth the visit for anyone else. One star for very nice staff and cleanness.
It was pretty cool. The museum starts off with a video showing how Pittsburgh is participating in future space travel and we learned about different machines that they make in the clean room on site. The downside was the museum was a whole lot smaller than I anticipated. I had budgeted about three and a half hours to walk around the museum and it was really just a couple rooms. I did spend some time coloring a spaceship badge.
So I work for a cyber school which I called reach cyber today I took 10 wonderful kids on a trip it's the best museum in Pittsburgh very educational for your kids all the kids has a wonderful time and the people who work here was all amazing.... We will definitely be coming back in AprilVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$6–10
This is an advert for a company, not a real museum. It is Ok if a company sponsors a nonprofit that promotes public's knowledge of the general area in which the company works. This is not the case here: not only the museum is located inside Astrobitic's headquarters, the museum visit starts with a film hyping Pittsburgh aerospace industry with a spotlight on the company. The visitors can then enjoy a scavenger hunt for the relics of the employees and executives of the company and their business partners, and feel the thrill at being "spontaneously" accosted by museum employees exclaiming that they overheard that the company moon mission will be controlled "from this very building". The agenda is equally visible elsewhere -- for example one of exhibits asks visitors to decide what to do with lunar geological wealth, with the nod to the infomercial video which pitched this as a benefit of the company's work.
I got to see something that will be on the moon for the rest of my life. So cool. 5 stars.
