Owner is extremely disrespectful and rude, he curses and disrespects you. Would NEVER spend a dime here. Definitely wouldn't buy the flowers, don't think about a photo of the flowers he will curse you out and call you names for doing such.
I had a terrible experience at this place. They displayed a price for payment in cash, but charged an additional surcharge at the register if paying with a card - any card. I feel like I was ripped off and will never return there again. I strongly advise others to avoid this place or beware of their devious surcharges.
Do not order food from this deli I so rats inside .also People behind the food counter are disrespectful their are always in bad mood.
Morgan’s Market is my go to for sandwiches, pastries, kimchi and various other groceries while at work out after. The staff where at the cashier or at the deli counter are friendly and helpful. The aisles can feel cramped but their well stocked and up to date. They have lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and a decent Asian food section especially for kimchi. The deli counter is great I personally recommend their French Toast. French fries it’s best to check to see if they’re available so don’t get your hopes up. They also carry an extensive pastry and muffins as well
As Morgan's Market is an independently owned business I understand their prices can't compete against the bigger name markets in the neighborhood, but I still drop by because of the short time to wait for breakfast, lunch, coffee and or other necessities. The guy taking the order at the deli has always been easy going and personable. And the woman and men behind the register are always friendly, helpful and courteous. Even when I am in a rush to get outside, they are always friendly and patient with me and my pushyness for them to hurry. My experience seeing other customers treat the employees as if they are attempting to steal their money is truly disheartening, concerning and absurd. If you're having an issue then ask to speak with management, stop getting upset with the employees and instead complain about the store policy to management. My experience with non-fluent English speakers is to be patient because when I talk I may say a word or few they aren't familiar with and what they believe I said in their attempt to understand my statements, requests and or silly attempts at humor. Especially before my first cup of coffee. Again my personal experience is the customers in front of me having a bad day and taking it out on the working people behind the counter/register. Morgan's Market and the people who work there are like all of us, not perfect but show up and do our best dealing with other imperfect people. Thank you for being in the neighborhood Morgan's Market and see you soon.
So lucky to have Morgan’s Market in my neighborhood. Everything from the fresh flowers to the sandwiches is first rate. The store is spotless. And the owners couldn’t be nicer. Today I went in looking for a seasoning packet Goya Sazón that I needed for dinner and I’ve bought there in the past. Without my asking, the owner went into the kitchen and brought out a few packets and just gave them to me. It’s the small things that make Morgan’s the neighborhood institution that it’s become.
I’ve been ordering in person here for some time. I ordered very early this morning, giving them my card info and all. I work at a studio my phone doesn’t have service & I can’t pick up my phone on the job. I called back because it took longer than expected, they told me my card denied and they couldn’t get me on the phone… The person answering the phone the Asian gentleman that’s there all the time I recognize the sound of his voice was disrespectful, denied my apologies and wanting to give a new card info. And told me they’ll never deliver. So I called back to clarify and AGAIN HE SAID no we stopped delivering to ME. A CUSTOMER!!!.. it sucks because I like their food! Terrible customer service, THE man flirts with me making it uncomfortable to order in person!!!
I occasionally come here to get a quick deli meal to eat outside on a sunny day. The location is near Chambers Street station from the 2/3 train. The food isn’t fancy and neither is this market. I give it 5 stars because I’ve been here several times and each time, the experience has been great. There is no order slip. You holler your order up to the cook elevated behind the counter. The cook hollers the order over to the cashier, who seems to be the owner. The cashier rings you up to pay and then you wait for your order. I don’t shop the rest of the market, but I would recommend the deli and cheap bakery goods. The fresh flowers outside look very enticing. Maybe this place is a neighborhood secret, it’s never busy, so I love to go there. The home fries and the piled high burgers are so satisfying.
A fine place to get a sandwich or shop for food. Larger than a bodega & smaller than a supermarket. Friendly folks, prices ok for location. RX bars are $3.50...
You have to watch what you are being charged. There is the posted price on the board then there is the price they charge at the register. I let the person know that he overcharged me,he begins to argue. I had to suggest he look at his own board and charge me the price listed. One of the other employees said the proce listed was wrong and needed to be corrected. I said that is not my problem. You have to go by the price listed. I was very unhappy with the service.
