For a small town, Moriarty Foods has a very adequate inventory. The staff are incredibly gracious, helpful and friendly. The prices are not but pennies higher than Smith's and Wal-Mart which are both 14 miles from Moriarty. Easy access from route 66. Just a mile from I 40.

The prices are insane and the half n half I bought was beyond bad even though the date had weeks to go plus the loaf of bread went moldy 2 days later and the package of cheese was soggy wet inside and so gross I tossed it out. The parking lot is a nightmare there are craters at the entrance the kind that will damage your car. The cashiers ignored me at the register while they gossiped in Spanish the whole time I had to interrupt her to ask her to finish the transaction on her side. Back to the prices. There are things here that are twice the price you pay at Walmart it's become a ripoff store for anyone who can't get somewhere else. I suspect if not for the liquor store the place would close no one can afford to buy groceries there anymore.

Moriarty as a city leaves very little to make much if any impression thats positive. It has always had a bad reputation and certainly isnt the safest town to be left alone in. However, Moriarty foods and liquor store is always clean, always quiet and quick to get through. Their selections on products in all areas go from one extreme to another but still, i find it an entertaining shopping experience thats worth the drive from Edgewood to save a couple bucks. ***PLUS*** It is the closest, most affordable and only liquor store that sells on Sundays! (Edgewood under no circumstance sells alcohol on a Sunday) All in all... id compare it to a piggly wiggly but a little more hood.
