My first breakfast in New York City and I came with an appetite. The food was great and I would have taken a picture of my eggs but I forgot. ha! The waitress was attentive and kept the coffee cup full. The pancakes and blueberries were on point. Just know if you’re eating at a sit-down restaurant in the city, you’re gonna pay a bit more. Bacon, 2 eggs, 2 pancakes and blueberries= $25 + tip. Still a great place for breakfast among the many places in this city. And their sign says breakfast served all day.
I’ve been here a few times now for breakfast and always had a good experience. The Philly omelet is very good, as is the farmers one too. I tend to have the salad instead of home fries, but that’s just me. The pancakes are also excellent. Definitely worth a visit, and it’s 24 hours for part of the week.Food: 5/5
Amazing cafe! The Lox Benedict was great - definitely recommend! The menu has lots to choose from and I’ve yet to be disappointed. Service is great and food comes out fast within 5-10 mins even when it’s a full house.Food: 5/5
I stumbled upon Morning Star Cafe seven years ago, and it has become my go-to spot in the city. The food is consistently delicious, the coffee flows endlessly, and the staff is exceptionally kind and friendly. A hidden gem that has become my longstanding favorite!Food: 5/5
The place was close to my hotel and since the first time I walked in I felt like home. The food was great and the treatment service was delightful, I’ll definitely gonna miss to do every single meal there during my stay in NYC.Food: 5/5
Your typical American diner. Taste okay. But not worth the queue if you need to.
This was our go to place for breakfast whilst in NYC. The food was outstanding, I never had a bad meal. The waiters were attentive and always looked after you. Order was taken and food was served within 10 minutes. Unlimited water and coffee refills.Food: 5/5
It was our first time in Morning Star Cafe. The quality of food and portions where great. The service was amazing, they make you feel comfortable. But the waiting area, they should do something with it. The restaurant don't have a sign for people to wait outside the dinner door. So people is basically on the dinner hall speaking, coughing and looking on top of you while you're trying to eat. I know cultures are different everywhere, but politeness should be basic. People should wait outside the door until they are called to be seated. I went to the bar and let them know and people where still coming inside basically on top of you.
The waffle was not edible. It was like a big piece of captain crunch cereal. I gave a piece away to a friend who dined with me and they couldn't choke it down either. They did not charge me for the waffle and their French toast was actually pretty good. But over all I can not recommend the food. The service was good and the people very polite.
After getting settled into our hotel, we were looking to get a good bite to eat and found this diner. Their food was very flavourful, and the toppings were generous with their portion size. I got the German burger. Delicious and sweet, the perfect mix of meat, salt, and sweet. My friend got the Rennaisance Wrap. Again, it was very generous filling all made together with a thin tortilla that looked home made. For a Friday at 9pm, it was quiet, and we were able to eat in peace after a day of traveling. We would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a traditional diner. Good food, good prices.
