Great location for access to Atlanta, right off the interstate. I really liked the wood laminate flooring in the room, I made it feel cleaner than the rest of the hotel. The customer service I received on site, was pleasant. When I called the hotel prior to arrival, it took multiple attempts to get an answer, and The person answered the phone with just "hello." Which was awkward. Also the pillows were just in a pile on a bed with the pillow cases in the pile. They were clean at least. Bathroom was clean, but could probably use some updates. There was no art work in the room, the walls were blank and white-ish. It felt a little institutional. The beds were alright, I checked for bed bugs and there were NONE which was a relief, but the mattresses were definitely used and abused. I got decent sleep and the hotel was fairly quiet. The a/c worked well. I skipped the complimentary coffee which because the small table it was sitting on looked messy, and the decent size lobby was completely void of any other furniture or art. The police were sitting out front when we arrived, which drew attention to fact we may not be in the safest of areas, but it didn't really bother me since I appreciated the fact they were there. I would stay here again if I needed to for business, but i would not go out of my way to go there.

We have stayed in over 100, maybe 200 Motel 6s over many many years mainly because we always have dogs. We usually have good experiences or even just neutral experiences but the Motel 6 in Decatur was the first Motel 6 that has compelled me to write a negative review. It was so dirty and run down! The hallway trash containers were overflowing, the elevators smelled of weed, the rooms were large but so worn and tattered, the beds were sagging, the shower and tub stall tiles were scraped and unfinished, our second floor was quiet but our daughter and her husband were on the first floor and it was noisy all night long. I've never seen a Motel 6 in that condition, anywhere and we have been in so many over the years!

First impressions are everything they say however I have always tried to look beyond a first impression before I make my decision, it made no difference here. The parking lot was terrible, trash everywhere including used condoms... Yes people used condoms. The lobby was clean but completely unwelcoming, no furniture, no decorations, no coffee, no one at the desk to greet us, had we not just completed a 26 hour drive of 1600 miles and having to pay a penalty for breaking a reservation there is no way I would have chose this motel. It just got worse going to the room. The hallways had trash everywhere, the area where vending and ice should have been on our floor had numerous trash cans. The hall carpeting was matted down with stains and filth. The room smelled clean but on closer inspection the bathroom tiles were dirty and there was hair on them from a couple of different sources, that is disgusting, I cleaned the tiles before I or my family used the shower. There were burn holes in the bedding and on the mattress, no bed bugs though. There is a desk but no chair, no seating in the room at all besides the beds. No decorations at all. Dried nail polish on the bedside table and on the walls, the window is dirty with paint all around the outside edge. The walls are dirty, no extra toilet paper and very little on the roll, I had to ask for more, no kleenex, no toiletries and when I asked the housekeeper for one extra set he said to leave the dirty ones outside of the room, we didn't want to get all new towels we just wanted one extra towel and face cloth but he looked at me as if I wanted to steal the towels, though at this property I can see why he would think that, we however aren't like that and frankly I was quite offended that he grouped us that way. The motel has a pool but it's not usable, that was very disappointing as well, my daughter and I talked about using the pool all the way across the country... I accidentally left my shampoo at home, 1600 miles away, I thought I'd be able to get some at the hotel, NOPE unless of course I wanted to pay for it, $1.50 for a tiny pouch in a vending machine that also sold lighters and condoms, wonder if those are the same used condoms I saw in the lot.... The only reason I gave 1 star is because I cannot give less and the bed was pretty comfortable too. Don't stay here people, I am going farther south in Georgia tomorrow, I have booked a room at another motel, this one has made me question every Motel 6 out there.

Easy to get to. Quiet location. Clean and comfortable. The biggest downfall is that there's no ATM in the hotel and you have to walk around to get to one, if needed. And the HDMI on the television didn't work.

To begin with, upon arrival there was no one at the front desk. There were two other people other than myself waiting for help. From the time I entered the lobby until I got to my room was over 30 minutes. Unacceptable. Now...let's talk about the hookers that were loitering in the lobby and out front by the door. In and out; in and out....they kept coming in and going out over and over. The lights in our room didn't work. I had reserved two rooms - one for my daughter and her husband and one for my best friend and I. We ended up all staying in one room because it just felt safer. When my friend went to the front desk to request a couple extra towels and pillows, she was told they don't give out extra pillows. She explained we had decided to stay in one room but the woman she spoke with was rude and continued to tell her they do not give out extra pillows. We DID get the extra pillows because my friend found one of the housekeepers and they helped us. The elevator smelled of marijuana and cigarettes---everything was filthy. This particular location is an absolute disgrace to the Motel 6 name.
