I booked this reservation online through Motel 6's website to stay one night with my son as we were attending an event nearby the next day. Due to a big traffic back-up, we didn't arrive until 10:30pm, and we were anxious to get straight to sleep as we had an early morning ahead of us. We lugged all of our bags to the room, and when we opened the door, we couldn't believe how hot the room was. It was 87 degrees INSIDE the room! The a/c apparently does not get turned on when the room is unoccupied in order to save electricity. Really? In the summer time in Miami? Bear in mind that I was not a "walk-in" reservation. They knew I was coming. At least it could have been set on auto 77 degrees or similar which would save electricity more so than having it switched off until the room is so hot you have to blast it with 60 degree a/c to cool it down enough to get to sleep. I work in the industry, and I've never heard of such a thing for confirmed arrivals. Re-think the policy! It was miserable, but at that hour of night we gritted our teeth and sweated it out. Terrible policy!

The staff was very accommodating and courteous. Pet friendly. Being that this is an older hotel, the rooms were very dated, including the bathroom (very low commodes). The hotel is located next to a stripper club and a lot of activity goes on. I would recommend only if person is looking for place to lay his head for the night.

Perfect location - the staff is friendly and helpful. My main issue was with the facility itself, It should be standard to have at least a small microwave and a compact refrigerator in every room. Also the darn elevator is in the corridor and has NO a/c as you can imagine it is very inconvenient in Miami FL. I would probably try another facility during my next visit.

The guest services were excellent. We needed our plane ticket printed out and it took a few attempts, but the entire front desk helped us. We got our tickets printed and had a great stay at this hotel! Thank you!

We had to be relocated due to non-smoking room smelling of smoke and over powered by air freshener - Front desk send they would send someone up to check it out, while I waited in this terrible smelling room, rather than to just move me right away. - After waiting and no one showed up to investigate, I called the front desk and they did switch my room Each day I received 2 wake-up calls that I did not request. One around 8:00 am and another around 10:00 am. The housekeeping staff significantly lacked customer service experience and did not put the guests’ comfort first. They shoved their way into full elevators with their carts and would often enter the elevator before guests who were already waiting; either causing it to be cramped or causing guest to wait for another elevator. I literally had to stand in front of someone from housekeeping that arrived at the elevator after me, but tried entering the elevator before myself and the other guest that had arrived. Housekeeping should have a separate elevator and not bring dirty linen into a crowded elevator with guest. Because I chose not to have room service while I was there, I would just swap out the towels for fresh towels and soap. However, one day I wasn’t given washcloths. When I tracked down a housekeeper and asked for washcloths, she just smiled and kept walking past me. I caught up with her and repeated my request and she shook her head “yes” and kept walking by. I assumed she was getting the washcloths and bringing them back, but she never came back. I shared what happened with the housekeeping supervisor and she told me to get them from the front desk. That was completely an inappropriate response. SHE should have gotten them and taken care of my request. I am assuming the smile and brush off was because of a language barrier. If that is the problem, she should have requested translation from the other housekeeper or called her supervisor to attempt to solve the problem. The housekeeping staff is in critical need of customer service training. Pillow cases were dirty, so we just swapped them out from the other bed. Fortunately, we also had two of our own.
