One of the hidden treasures of Baltimore. I went today got to tour the building by myself with Michelle a wonderful person and knowledgeable about the building. You could tell by the way she talked that she loved the building. One of the best tour guides I have ever had. I can not thank her enough for the wonderful experience. If you stop in Baltimore this is the place to see. It’s one of the few furnished building so unique. So cool.

A beautiful mansion on top of a well positioned hill and visible to anyone on route 1 and Monroe Street is one of the few remaining buildings let alone mansions in the state of Maryland! This historic site has had past first ladies, presidents, and congressmen. One in particular is Martha Washington the wife of our first president George Washington. She was so inspired by Mount Clair's green house (that was the first green house with tropical and exotic plants in the US!) that she made the first green house in the White House! Another thing that the mansion is known for is the gardens and land! The original building still stands but, many repairs have been made and additions have been added and removed. The house is filled with the original families belongings! The belongings of the Carroll family look brand new! More and more pieces of the families belongs are added regularly. Charles Carroll's baby crib to chamber pot are in the house! The tour guides are amazing and help kids learn about the mansion and the Carroll family. The mansion has a discount price with the B&O Railroad Museum making it easy to get to after a quick train ride to the mansion's train dock. This is a great place to visit if you come to Baltimore because it has survived 3 wars and is still standing beautifully! Not to mention you can walk where all the famous people before you have walked!

A great Colonial era mansion, and originally the home of Charles Carroll, Barrister. This is a terrific small museum to visit if you love history.
