Story

Mr. K’s has TWO types of Trade Credit:

PURPLE Trade Credit will be given to customers who trade in BOOKS, COMIC BOOKS, and AUDIO BOOKS. This trade can be used to purchase USED BOOKS, COMIC BOOKS, and AUDIO BOOKS.

GREEN Trade Credit will be given to customers who trade in MUSIC CDs, DVDs, and VIDEO GAMES. This trade can be used to purchase everything in the store except YELLOW STICKERED MERCHANDISE and SIDE ITEMS.

Funny money cannot be used to purchase books we buy new from the distributor. These books are designated with a yellow price sticker on the front.

We cannot offer funny money or cash for:

* books in poor condition (torn, soiled, stained, smelly, damaged, etc.)
* books published outside our age limits
* books that we subjectively feel are unsellable
* books previously purchased here which now fall into any of the above categories.

Mr. K’s Holding Policy

We will hold up to 3 items for 3 days! Trade credit may not be used to purchase held items.

Mr. K’s Trading Policy
Books

Trade: For any book traded, you will receive 40-50% of our estimated selling price for that book.

Cash: There are some books for which we can give you cash. You will receive up to 20% of our estimated selling price on fiction pocketbooks and up to 30% of our estimated selling price on non-fiction. The books for which we cannot pay cash or trade will be returned to you.

Cash & Trade: You will receive cash for those books for which we can give cash & trade credit for the rest.

Books-on-CD: You will receive 40-50% of our estimated selling price in purple trade.

CDs, DVDs and Video Games: We give 40%-50% of our selling price in trade and up to 30% in cash.

Vinyl Records: We give up to 30% of our selling price in cash for vinyl records.

Electronics: We give up to 30% of our selling price for electronic devices such as eReaders, tablets (iPads, etc.), and game systems.

Mr. K’s no longer carries VHS videos. We do carry DVDs and Blu-rays.

We pay cash for the following depending on current inventory:

* Science Fiction & Fantasy pocketbooks
* Classic & Modern Literature
* Westerns
* CDs
* Video Games
* DVDs
* Most non-fiction hardbacks including school textbooks, history, cookbooks, Inspirational, etc.

We offer trade credit for:

* Everything else.

We reserve the right to deny cash due to overstock on certain titles or genres.
