Muscatine mall is a retail center that seems to be trying to decide what it wants to be when it grows up. It has seen better days when it was built during America's "mall boom". It is still maintained and kept reasonably clean, so it could definitely make a resurgence.

The Muscatine area has big box stores like Walmart and Hy-vee, and many small restaurants and shops. I think that in order for the mall to really thrive it needs to focus on bringing something new, in retail to the area.

The area is mostly Barren inside the mall.  But the few shops available are all high quality and worth coming by if you need them. 

They include a shoe cobbler, bakery, dance studio, and a martial arts dojo. And of course the many stores the line the outside of the strip that are very lively

Disappointing if you are forced to shop here.  However, the Quality Cobbler is a good shoe store.  The owner provides the type of customer service that harkens back tho the last century.

Not many department stores left in Mall. But Younkers has clothes, make-up counters like Clinique, Lancome and Este Lauder. Also becdding,housewares and small electric appliances.  There children's selection is also a adequate.   Parking is available.
