This was by far the best dinner my daughter and I have had. We definitely had to wait but not long. We got a table on the heated outdoor patio which was very nice. The waitress was awesome and gave her opinions of different things to try. The burgers were fanominal, the soup and chili were also great! An cant go wrong with some cheese curds also. All in all a very nice place to go for dinner.
Really good food and atmosphere. They allow dogs on the patio, which is a huge plus. We had the fried pickles, the cranberry nut salad, and a build-your-own pizza. Everything was delicious and the staff was wonderful. Perhaps slightly overpriced, but it is summer and the busy time of year, so not a big deal. By far the best food we had in Grand Marais!
I'm generally very easy on the places i rate but i can't lie here, we had a less than stellar experience at My Sisters Place. The biggest disappointment for me was the outrageous prices for extremely mediocre meals. Most of the meals were close to $20 so i expected the dishes to be either high in quality or quanity or both. I was thoroughly disappointed, after waiting an hour for our food, to see my hot Italian served with very little meat and the side of sweet potato fries looked withered and overcooked. My meal was not the only one that was lacking. My son's burger was simple and plain and my daughter's grilled cheese was rubbery with cheese that was barely melted at all. On top of all the the service was bare-bone. No one acknowledged the long wait for our food or bothered to ask if it was okay. I understand there is a mark up on for prices for a busy tourist area but this felt much more like robbery than standard mark up. The only reason i don't give it 1 star is because the ambiance of the outdoor seating was fairly nice and the corn hole toss game helped us kill some time while we waited way too long for our food. All around, this place is highly overrated and i feel that i threw away over $100 for a few un-noteworthy meals.
Food was fine, not great. The service was ridiculously slow. The restaurant was nice. Definitely wasn't the worst place I've been. I really hate slow service and it wasn't even busy. Plenty of servers just standing in the server station.Food: 3/5
Overall it was a great first experience. The staff was pleasant, kind, and efficient. We had two of our kids with us, and they enjoyed the atmosphere as well. We ordered a large pizza to feed the four of us. We also ordered hot chocolate, hot apple cider, a blueberry shake, and a small vanilla sundae. The food was very tasty, but in my opinion a little overpriced for what you get. We actually found this place because another local pizza joint was understaffed and unavailable. I think we would return again, but perhaps after trying more of the other local restaurants as well.
Cool building/ environment with good food. Service was good not great. But I understand that can be different day to day. I'll eat there again when I'm back in the area.
Excellent service, Fast and courteous. Good burgers. Excellent onion rings and sweet potato fries. Pizza or chicken Alfredo pizza is average. Regular potatoes fries are basic. Good beer selection. Go there is you are hungry for a good burger and want fast service. It’s not by the water so it’s a little less crowded. A local staple for sure.
Great food and great service! We got the poutine, cranberry salad and walleye sandwich. All was delicious!! One of our favorite meals on the North Shore.Food: 5/5
Stopped in after a long flight and drive. The service was not the greatest the food was ok. I think I insulted the waiter when I asked where we could go for groceries. I had the famous hot dog with wild rice and cheese. It was different and good but not my thing.
Fun place. Short staff, but our waiter was friendly... The host/hostess took quite awhile to even acknowledge our existence which could be frustrating, we were in a chill mood though. And as I said, short staffed it seemed. The apps were great... We over ordered and loved every minute of it.
