Food... excellent and hot. Service...fast and friendly. Price...love them. Locals...always fun to eat at a new place and see the locals there....then you know it is good.
Great food & service! Highly recommend the fried potatoes!!! Fresh fish....if you get there early. We came with a group of 11 on a busy Sunday morning, they got us in quickly not together, but we weren't expecting to, due to how busy they were we were served promptly & food didn't take long.
A darned good breakfast! Four strips of excellent bacon, potatoes sliced and cooked on the grill, fried eggs cooked just right and buttered toast. What's not to like? All good!
This place has a hometown mom and pop feel. The best things about this place is that they open earlier than other restaurants in town and better yet, they are open every day of the week unlike some of the other local places. We came here because the Blue Water Cafe which is also very good was closed on a Wednesday. The omelette was very good and all the breakfasts options offer you one pancake. Customer service was a little slow but we were not in any hurry and the wait was worth it. All of the breakfast menu options are affordable. We found many of the locals prefer this place for their meals.
Nice to find a breakfast restaurant that opens early enough for breakfast. My English muffin sandwich was really good, only complaint is I wish it was a sausage patty instead of links. Potatoes are good, not as crispy as I like but still good. Their tables are REALLY narrow. Being a bigger person they are very uncomfortable to sit in.
We shared an omlette with pancake and the grilled ham and cheese sandwich with fries. All was very good! Disappointed within the 35 min wait to get seated at 10am but it's the fault of an overreaching bureaucracy forcing them to close most of the inside seating.
I saw the title and decided to check it out. I come to find out that it is an American diner because it is south of the Canadian border. Excellent breakfast before heading out on the road very friendly and good, quick service.
Good food and straight forward service. I got the fresh Herring plate with 2 eggs, potatoes and toast. No frills diner. Definitely a good option if you need breakfast. CASH ONLY.
Breakfast done right-- fish special was clutch! Best value brunch in Grand Marais for sure. Only wish their tartar sauce didn’t come in tiny packets:
Food was great portions were huge. No wait at 8 am for breakfast. For a tourist town the prices weren't outrageous. The waitress complained that it wasn't as busy as normal which was odd since we are locals and she could care for us. Locals were loudly playing videos in the restaurant
