We had fun going through the cave with a knowledgeable guide. The cave has some neat features and they did a very nice job setting up lighting to accent them. I'd recommend checking it out once!

Great cave tour. Long enough to feel like you're exploring. Short enough to hold your interest. Well made paths and railing. Easy enough for 3 year old and 70 year old. Bring a light coat for the tour if you chill easily.

This park is a rather unusual one as far as Midwest parks go. The cave system is surprisingly expansive, and the park staff is continually working on expanding access to more parts of the cave. The scenic tour granted access to the most cavernous parts of the cave, along with a tour guide who points out various cave formations. Access to the various parts of the cave is quite good, though the tour is not handicap accessible. The tour guides take great care in preserving the cave, discouraging visitors to refrain from touching any cave formations. The cave stays a constant 50°, so a light jacket is recommended. This is a great activity on a hot summer day to get out of the heat.

If you love to camp and are not afraid of the dark then Mystery Cave is one destination you should put on your list. Visitors are greeted with Stalactite and Stalagmite formations. The lantern tour is a hoot, makes you appreciate how the early cave exploration used to take place
