What a gem to discover in Pittsburgh The service was very nice and the food was authentically spectacular I had Yaki Udon chicken and tofu, chili wings and beef bulgogi not pictured but delicious. All the dishes came out hot and fresh...the tea is a authentic, house specialty blend with notes of toasted jasmine. You'll want to try everything once you've tried it the first time. Haven't had anything like this since leaving LA and dining in Koreatown. You'll love Nak Wan Garden, I did YUM!!
Um I don’t have much experience with Korean food but this rocked. It’s a small restaurant and filled on a Wednesday night. 80% of patrons were Asian. We ordered: Squid and pork belly stir fry, Korean wings, scallion pancake, bimibop. Everything came out fast and hot. If I lived in Pittsburgh I’d eat here regularly.
Delicious authentic Korean food. My favorite is the bo ssam-roast pork belly with vegetables and the best salty/spicy side dishes. The bulgogi and other marinated meats come out on a hot cast iron skillet. Many different banchan, rice, and lettuce all come with it. Their sweet and spicy chicken wings are a great dish to start out with. Our favorite dish to order from here is the buddae jiggae or Army Base Stew. Although slightly expensive, it is worth every penny
As a korean dish lover, I definitely don’t recommend it. Our two girls eat about 100 dollars, it’s not a cheap meal. But the octopus hot pot did not have much taste, and no water and other basic service.
Nak Won Garden is my favorite Korean Restaurant in Pittsburgh! It’s located on the 5500 block of Centre Avenue just a short walk from the Giant Eagle Market District in Shadyside. The restaurant has a clean, cozy seating area with prompt service and authentic food. My go-to starter is the vegetarian Pan Jun followed by Dolsot Bibimbap with tofu as my main dish. If you’re in and around Pittsburgh, be sure to enjoy a meal here!
Parking can be tricky but if you turn past the restaurant there is usually easy street parking. Small place so maybe check ahead to make sure there is seating available although it’s never been full when we visit. Good no frills Korean food.
The food is absolutely delicious! My husband and I recently returned to the area after living in Korea for over 2 years. This restaurant serves authentic food that is just as good, if not better, than the restaurants we ate at in Korea. The owner was very nice and welcoming. Overall, it was a great experience! 10/10 would recommend
Been here many times, this is a wonderful, small, and quiet casual restaurant. The food is amazing and 100% authentic Korean food. I have never had "bad" service here, and suspect it may be a culture clash with some commenters. At this restaurant you won't be babied or checked on constantly. If you want something you need to ask for it. Some dishes are more expensive than others, but it is supposed to be shared, and always comes with lots of sides items like rice and pickled vegetables. Some of the best food in Pittsburgh.
Very friendly service. Nice lady that seated us gave us little yoghurt drinks at the end of our meal for my wife’s birthday. We were disappointed we couldn’t get into Cobra, but this little place has a warmer environment. We ordered too much food. It barely fit on the table. We didn’t realize the portions were so generous see picture. It made for good leftovers though, almost as delicious as it was when it was served. We will definitely be back the next time we crave Korean bbq!
Delicious authentic meal!! We have found our new favorite Korean Food Restaurant! Big portions, fresh food, amazing flavors! 10/10 recommend!
