I was diagnosed with Epilepsy in 2012. I originally started with a different Neurologist, but he found employment in another state. I was a new patient and only had 2-3 appointments with that neurologist before he moved. He was a good neurologist, but since he moved, I was assigned Dr. Maharjan. I was on medicine from my previous neurologist, but it wasn't working. I was still having seizures. So, I went to Maharjan who increased the dosage on my medication prescribed to me by the previous neurologist. Even on the highest dosage, I was still having seizures. I returned to him after having another seizure and he basically said he doesn't know what's going on, I'm on the highest dosage, there's nothing else he can do. Needless to say, that's not an answer I wanted to hear. So of course, I did my research, found a new neurologist and I have been great ever since. The first thing my new neurologist did was change my prescription AND sent me to see an Epileptologist, which is higher than a Neurologist. Now, onto Dr. Maharjan's nurse. She is not the sharpest tool in the shed. Overall, I am very glad I decided to go elsewhere. Always remember, you have options! Get a second, third, even a fourth opinion if need be. Never, EVER settle when it comes to your health!
