The Precinct provides police service to more than 145,000 permanent residents. Taking into account the number of businesses and shopping areas, this number swells to over 230,000, each day.
The precinct covers forty-one (41) square miles, serving seven (7) Incorporated Villages and parts of the Towns of Hempstead and North Hempstead. In order to protect life and property, maintain public order, and enforce applicable laws and ordinances, the precinct maintains twenty five (25) Radio – Motor Patrol posts, as well as mandated posts located in the Nassau County Department of Health and Human Services Building, the Theodore Roosevelt County Executive/Legislative Building, the New Cassel community, and the Nassau Hub shopping area.
