Dr ward is amazing. He is laid back and very knowledgeable. He helped deliver both my girls and I could not be happier. He was at every appointment and it was easy to get in and out. He answered my concerns and was super helpful. I would reccomend him to anyone looking for a doctor!

Dr. Nathan Ward is a WONDERFUL surgeon, not a good baby doctor! That is my opinion after having him as my doctor in both situations. He might be a good baby doctor if you have had a few and want some one low-key. I chose him for my OBGYN for my first pregnancy and really regret it. His "bed side manner" is terrible, I felt like I was introducing myself to him at each appointment. That suspicion was confirmed when I came to my 32 week (or whenever they recommend, I don't remember) with my birth plan typed up and had a LONG discussion with him about it and how I wanted to handle pain management in the delivery room. 2 appointments later he flat out asked me if I had thought about my plan for pain management! 😳 He had absolutely no memory of our conversation! I can understand he sees many patients and is very busy but like at least glance at my chart or some notes or something before you come in the room to talk to me! I just felt forgotten and faceless- NOT what I needed for my first pregnancy. I also have issues with the way he handled my delivery where he used THREE different sets of forceps and ended up giving my son TWO permanent forceps scars on his face but I acknowledge that it was a stressful situation and I am not a doctor and that is why I chose to deliver in a hospital- to allow specialized doctors to make tough calls for me in the heat of the moment. The last straw for me was when I went to my 6 week postpartum appointment and I told him that I was interested in the Nuva ring since that had worked for me in the past but had read that you shouldn't use it if breastfeeding. Dr.Ward assured me that it was no big deal and the Nuva ring delivers such a low dose of hormone that my breastfeeding shouldn't be affected. So he gave me a sample and sent me on my way with the prescription. Within 24 HOURS my milk basically dried up, my son became extremely cranky and his perfect complexion since birth was suddenly ruined by TERRIBLE infant acne! I ripped out the stupid Nuva ring and thankfully was able to work my milk supply back up over the following couple of days. So because of all this I had a different doctor implant an IUD months later and they unfortunately did it wrong which caused the IUD to end up in my abdomen. Ironically My referral for surgery was to Dr. Ward and he did a great job. I can't really say anything about it- pretty cut and dry- he talked to me before surgery, they put me out, I woke up with a couple of holes and recovery was simple and quick. It was a learning but traumatizing experience with Dr. Ward. I wouldn't recommend him if your having a baby but I would if your like getting a hysterectomy.
