We are so very thankful for finding Neighborhood Hospice to care for Jim in his last days. The nurses were so kind and attentive, caring for him as well as all of us. We all felt the love they have for their profession, and it comforted us during a terribly stressful time. They provided physical, emotional, and spiritual care on a daily basis. There was absolutely nothing I could have asked for that wasn't provided. God will surely bless them for this very difficult job that they all do daily.

My husband received EXCELLENT care at Neighborhood Hospice and that was a comfort both to him and to us, his family. His care was professional but warm and caring and the care was geared toward keeping him comfortable, clean and pain free. Words can't express how wonderful Neighborhood Hospice helped us all!

My wife passed away from ovarian cancer on Feb 20, 2014 at the age of 56 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester, PA. The pain management staff there did a heroic job of managing her horrific pain at the end and I have no complaints about her direct caregivers. However, I cannot recommend this hospice, as after she died, (while her sons and I were out of the room as the body was being cleaned) an angel pendant necklace, which had great sentimental value and a diamond ring were removed from her body and stolen. (My wife had refused to take the pendant and the ring off. I had removed her other jewelry before she was transferred from the hospital to the hospice and it is safe with me.) Of course, being overcome emotionally at the time of her death, I did not think to ask for this jewelry until I realized, some weeks later, that it was not with her other jewelry that I had removed, Two weeks after I left 2 phone messages with the manager reporting the theft to the hospice, I finally talked with one of the business managers there, who told me that yes, they could confirm the jewelry was on her when she was admitted, but they had no idea what happened to it after she died. Their answer to me was that they were going to review their policy for the future. There was no offer of any kind to make amends nor any apology. The monetary value of this jewelry was several hundred dollars, but the real value was sentimental and that cannot be valued. The manager I spoke with never admitted even the possibility that someone who works there is a thief and gave a short and unsatisfactory answer when asked if they knew who had cleaned the body and was that person being investigated. I am left with the belief that they just don't want to be bothered. The last place you need to be when a loved one is dying is a place where at least one employee is a thief and the management doesn't really seem to care. There are other hospice choices in the area. I strongly urge you to choose one of them. I will be filing a police report with the West Chester police department next week. Maybe they can get some serious answers.
