As an out-of-stater who just wanted to learn more about the history of Nevada, I was sincerely frustrated that I could not visit this museum without paying for an unwanted entrance into the Springs Preserve. I don’t have kids and was not interested in going into a “preserve.” I only wanted to visit the Nevada State museum. If it was possible to give no stars, I would. The price to visit this state history museum is outrageously high for a non-resident.

My complaint is for the employee who stands in front of the ticket counter. I say "I'm looking for the State museum." She says "Well the state museum is closed, but you can buy your ticket at the counter right here." Then she turns and starts assisting the other people walking up. I say "Wait a minute. So you just said the museum is closed?" She says "Yes all museums are closed right now but they all require you to buy a ticket which you can get right here." What? If it's closed why would I still pay 17$ for a ticket? Very confused. Was she just trying to get me to buy a ticket to see the preserve instead? Also, it's 3:15pm why is the museum closed? The website says open until 5pm. I left of course.
