Ok so I have bought shoes from this particular store several times and the service is outstanding! I make a special trip to buy my shoes there, driving from Mobile to Birmingham once a year...we didn't make it this year so I called and purchased the ones I like and they shipped them to my home..when I realized that the ones I purchased weren't fitting right I called and they shipped me a new pair of a different style that worked perfectly!! Thanks to Lance and everyone at New Balance Birmingham!!

Highly recommend this store. Patrick was very helpful. Store was clean and the employees worked hard to make you feel welcome. You can tell they want your business and they make the effort to get it! Top notch.

I'm looking for a new pair of work shoes that are more comfortable than the $450 brand I currently wear. I found a stunning pair of shoes that had a classic design with an interior that made my feet beg me to get them, even without trying them on. They were a gray faded leather and aren't made in black (which black leather is a requirement for me) so I asked the gentlemen in the store if they knew of a process to turn the leather black. None of them did, but suddenly my sales man referred me to a classic shoe repair shop in Cahaba that I was already familiar with so I got excited. While he went back to get my size I called the shop, but they wouldn't be open for another 48 hrs so that I could ask if it were possible. When my salesman returned, excited I'd decided to buy a rather expensive price of merchandise I mentioned that the repair shop wouldn't be opened until Tuesday. THEN HE LITERALLY SAID, "OH SO YOURE NOT BUYING THEM TODAY?" I said yeah I just want to make sure they can be made black as polite as could be. THEN HE TURNED AROUND AND TOOK THE SHOES BACK TO THE BACK WITHOUT LETTING ME TRY THEM ON!

I'm in sales. Direct sales. I manage 19 professionals who are paid on commission only and if they ever treated a buying customer like that they'd be fired on the spot.

I just left this store and was very happy! I have never been fitted for running shoes before and after spending the same amount in Academy for shoes that I have ended up being very unhappy with, I decided to go the route of being fitted. 
Best points:
Can park right in front of the door.
Got waited on immediately though there were other customers.
Patrick (I think) asked the right kinds of questions and validated my concerns.
I was scanned and he explained the results. He walked over to show me what he recommended.
I tried on 4 pairs of shoes. I told him I would get easily overwhelmed if he brought out a bunch of different shoes. He said he didn't think they had a bunch of different kinds in my size. He even brought out a pair of shoes on sale.
I made my decision rather quickly based on how each one felt and luckily happened to be the sale shoe!
It was so quick and I was so happy! WHY wouldn't you get help and expertise if you know you're going to drop the exact same amount of money at the big box store where you don't even get a thank you?
