Story

On February 16, 1997, the first service of New Birth was held in the home of Pastor Mike with 20 adults and children attending. Nine people made verbal commitments to the church. It was at this initial service that Pastor Mike laid out the vision God had imparted to him. It began with no denominational financial support or affiliation. But, it did begin with a heart for the people and a love for the word of God.

Over the next seven years, New Birth worshipped in various elementary schools in the city, until the building was complete. Pastor designed the lay-out for the first building on a napkin, and his vision from the napkin went into reality on March 16, 2003, when we walked into the building.

Our widely viewed television program began airing in 2007 and is watched by thousands in Louisville, surrounding counties, and Southern Indiana. In June 2010, because of our continued growth, we added an 8:30am service to accommodate the new members. This service proved a great success.

In January 2011, Pastor Mike laid out the vision to embark on a “New Journey”. This expansion program will consist of two projects; the first, to build a multi-purpose facility and the second, to have all debts paid in full. We are excited about where God is taking us on this New Journey, and we hope you come along for this flight.
