We were surprised to find such a nice beach on our visit to the southwest corner of Michigan. Parking is only $12 (cheap by New England standards), and facilities include bathrooms, a snack bar, and a playground. The sand is a bit less fine than beaches we're used to, but still perfectly soft and easy to walk on. The water is impressively clear and on a sunny August day was comfortably warm enough for swimming and lounging. With plenty of food and supply options in the adjacent town (a bit out of walking distance perhaps), this would be an easy place to spend a day.

I just love going places like near water and stuff but not deep because I'm not a professional swimmer.

Nice lake beach. There are piers up in the sand dunes you can trek through the sand to see. There is also a jutty with rocks that you are free to explore. The rocks are a little dangerous and require some coordination to traverse--it would not be good for disabled people or very small children. Consider wearing sturdy sandals or shoes with tread (or go barefoot to feel the rocks, but carry your shoes with you, since there is a metal grate bridge part way through to the end of the jutty).

I stopped here while traveling on a work trip to stretch my legs and I enjoyed every second of it. The scenery here is beautiful and even more so, especially during sunset. In fact i enjoyed it so much that after 4 years later I'm still inspired enough to write this review. Enjoy!!
