They were as friendly and helpful as possible. They were booked up for the next few days and still squeezed me in on their lunch break. It may not be as nice as a private facility, but it's pretty darn good for a public facility with lots of free services.

They tell me my WIC appointment is at 8:45am here it is almost 9am they are soooo slow. They need to be on time from now on. Like why double book people and waste people's time and gas. # BE ON TIME!!

I went to NHCHD for a preventative medicone woman's visit. I called ahead and asked for a quote on the price as I have no insurance and would have to pay out of pocket (hence the reason I went to the Health Department rather then a specialist). I was quoted $50 for a PAP. After the visit I played right away and was charged $85, as they ran the HPV test as well. I was fine with this. About two months later I got a bill for an additional $167. I called and was told they "forgot" to charge me for the office visit. I spoke to the supervisor, Paula Jenkins, and asked her why they quoted me only $50 if they charged an office visit fee of $167. She told me there was no way that the girls at the front desk would have known I was going to he charged for an office visit. I asked her if they charge for an office visit for every pap and she said "yes". I was told I could pay towards the balance monthly and she wouldnt send it to collections. To make matters worse, they didn't even get an adequate sample for my PAP. I had to have it redone. Needless to say, I went to a specialist. Basically I feel like I was taken advantage of. First I was lied to over the phone about the price. The girls at the front would 100% know about the charge for the office visit. And I find it convenient that they allowed me to "pay in full" $85 after the visit exam and then two months later sent me a bill for $167 and basically threatened to send it to collections if I didn't pay. Be mindful of charges by this place if you go and know that you may get a bill for more $ up the road. I myself will not go back here.
