Had dim sum here and was unfortunately unimpressed. Both quality and quantity did not justify the steep price (5$ per plate). It may be average price in Vancouver but I'd rather go elsewhere for lunch. HK milk tea wasn't as great as I'd hope either, it felt a bit too thick and lacked tea flavor. On the positive side, they make great pineapple buns!

Their bbq duck and their red or on belly baozi are indescribably good! They just melt into your mouth. Probably the best Chinese bakery I've ever been to in Canada!

One of the main reasons I come up to Vancouver. Haven't actually eaten here, one come to buy some siopao and other baked goods. Pork buns are the best.

The Bakery has a good selection of good old chinese bake goods. The taste is quite consistent and fresh. The only issue that i have is that the service AWFUL, especially the male server with glasses at the front. He has that look like he hates the whole world and very impatience/rude when asking and replying back. The two stars that i have given is truly for quality & taste for their bake goods. I would definitely give 4 stars if the service improves.

New Town is well known as a traditional Chinese bakery, famous for steamed bao, coconut buns, apple tarts and HK milk tea. But there are some other gems on the menu worth trying. The Sizzling Chicken Hot Pot makes a great meal for two. A side of greens and some rice would round that out. Add an order of spicy Chow Gwai Dil noodle if there are three of you. Fibaly, with all these temptations, the long-cooked daily soup is always tasty and a healthy way to balance indulgence.
