Story

Welcome to the "New York Minute", a neighborhood favorite for Chinese-American; Carry-Out, Catering, & Delivery. Ms. Kim started her career in the 1960's at the famed "Chin Tiki" restaurant in downtown Detroit. That's right, she was a "Chin Tiki Girl" as referenced by Eminem in the movie 8-mile's rap battle location and song. Ms. Kim worked her way up to management at Chin-Tiki, later moving on to manage the VIP Japanese restaurant in the Southfield Town-Center, before becoming the catering director at the Pontiac Sheraton Hotel. It was here that Ms. Kim had the realization, that if her cooking could appease the hungriest of appetites, i.e. The Detroit Lions Players and their opponents...that she could undoubtedly satisfy an army of hungry kids and parents too.

So Ms. Kim started off on her own and founded the "New York Minute" in 2007. For the past 10 years she has applied her lifelong restaurant experience to create her unique versions of traditional Chinese-American cuisine. Her creativity with flavoring has earned her the well deserved customer distinction...

When you arrive at the New York Minute, the first thing that's obvious is the store does not share the traditional "cliche" appearance of every other Chinese restaurant. This is by design, when you're a small business owner, you start out with a choice...spend your money on the looks, or spend your money on the highest quality products...
