I loved my visit here. first of all they were extremely efficient, timely and prompt in service. I really like doctor Huang and thought they delivered excellent care. They seem to be really up to date with the latest technology. the cleaning was done quickly and comfortably and everything was explained so well. I'd recommend this office to everyone. You won't be disappointed and might even look forward to your semi-annual visits! Definitely choose Ninth East Dental.

Excellent and kind staff. The staff and Doc were all very friendly and knowledgeable. Went in as a new patient for a regular cleaning. They made sure I was comfortable and understood what was going on.

I had hated dentists almost all my life mostly because as a child growing up in Taiwan I wasn't educated properly on how to care for my teeth, and when I had cavities and had to go to the dentists there was hardly ever (if ever) anesthesia used when my teeth were drilled into. As a result my mom and the nurses constantly had to hold me down when the dentists drilled into my teeth and I hated it so much as a child/teenager/adult. I even had accidents when my childhood dentist in Taiwan drilled into my tongue and then yelled at me for not holding still for him. :( After I came to BYU for grad school one weekend a tooth filling fell out, and reflecting on all the scary childhood memories I actually cried for a day or two in fears before I decided I really had to go see a dentist. Because Ninth East Dental was closest to campus and also they're contracted with BYU student health plan to offer a cheaper price, I ended up here. My dentist (Dr. Preston Huang) was extremely kind and patient and non judgmental, which was REALLY helpful. He always made sure I understood what was going on and what procedures he was going to perform, and has always been very patient and non-scary. He always reassured me that if I felt any discomfort he would stop the procedure right away and adjust the use of anesthesia as necessary but not overdo it. I also appreciate the fact that they have x-rays and use modern equipment to record and show me exactly what conditions my teeth are in. After reviewing my conditions we found multiple really concerning situations, probably (I think) because it was hard for me to hold still as a child so my childhood dentists couldn't thoroughly fix my cavities, and overtime I had quite a few rotten decays underneath the filling in my teeth that looked fine from the surface but were actually rotting really badly underneath. We had quite some extensive discussions and I appreciate Dr. Huang telling me exactly what needs to be done, which ones were priorities, which ones can wait, which ones looked concerning to me but actually looked fine to him, etc, and he was very understanding of my financial situation as a student and never tried to sell me services that I didn't need. I also really love the receptionists here because they're always really, really kind and helpful. Overall I rate this place with 5 stars because I feel very taken care of, respected, and that the people who work here have ethics and integrity, are kind and welcoming and helpful. I do have mixed feelings about the hygienists though, because some are less gentle than others and they trigger my fears. But overall it's been a GREAT place to me and it's kinda funny to think that I came here for higher education and by the time I graduated I got my teeth all fixed up too! :) Although my childhood experience was probably uncommon here in the United States anyway, I would still highly recommend this place to anyone, and particularly anyone with great fears for dentists in general.
