I went in asking to buy flexible metal tack strip as I am reupholstering a chair. The owner said she normally doesn't sell her supplies but would be willing to help me out as she is a DIY-er too!  She offered it to me for $1 /yard (I need 4 yards) and I said that would be fine. Then as we kept chatting while waiting on her guy to cut it, she said "so that's $5 for 4 yards". I said wait, you just said a dollar per yard. And she said "yep but now I'm saying. $5 for all four yards". I asked what kind of bartering that was and said I'd take my business elsewhere!
