Under no circumstances should you leave your loved one in this hole-in-the-wall masquerading as a health care facility. You will regret it. My mother came to NMS Healthcare for ventilator weaning; based on her settings she should have been finished within two weeks. Instead, the Pulmonologist and Respiratory Therapists left her on the vent the entire seven days that we were there; making absolutely no attempt to take her off even for five minutes. They wanted her to stay for six weeks in order to soak Medicare for more cash - the longer a patient remains on a ventilator the more difficult it becomes to free them from it. My mom also had a wound on her rear, the doctor said 'It looks great' but I could tell it was infected from the smell. NMS cared more about the money they would make from her insurance than they cared about her health. After one week of the worst health care possible I moved her to Washington Adventist Hospital; it was obvious that the doctors there were used to cleaning up NMS's mess. Maryland should seriously consider closing this facility. It is dirty, the workers have little command of the English language, have horrible attitudes and display little concern for the patients.

If I could've I wouldn't give them any stars!!! This place is not professional at all!!! I went today to go visit my dad and to find out he was admitted to the hospital. No call or anything!!!! It's been almost a week!!! My dads cell phone was stolen and they never contacted me about an investigation or anything!!! No one returns your calls or even care to contact you about anything!!! I wouldn't send the devil here. It's so sad to see all of those sick people on the floor and the nurses just sitting around. Terrible place to be at! I pray for those sick patients!

Stay as far away from this facility as possible. My love one was taken off all of her medicine and deteriated to a comatose state. The staff and doctors were only concerned about detaining my love one for a maximum period of time to occupy a bed.

I do not recommend you send your family member to NMS. My brother was transferred to NMS Hyattsville MD. on Saturday, December 3, 2016 by air transport from Select Specialty. All I could find out that day was he had been sent to Washington Adventis Hospital to have his feeding tube put back in. On Sunday, December 4, I called to check on him. I was transferred to numerous people who seemed to know nothing. Finally I talked to a nurse (no name given) only to have her tell me she would call me back. I never heard back from her that day. My niece decided she would drive the 5 and a half hours to check NMS out and to see how my brother was doing. She was at NMS on Monday, December 5 and he appeared to be doing fine. She purchased numerous items for him and placed his name on all of them. She left late that night. On Wednesday, December 7, my brother my brother died. That day my niece called NMS to see about getting his personal belonging back. They would look into it. I have called numerous times inquiring about his belongings. Each time I was told they were still looking for them. I have now been told they are no where to be found and they don't know What happened to them. I would think common practice would be when a patient died, as a courtesy to the family out of state, they would pack all his belongings up and mail to them. He didn't have his eyeglasses to be buried with on his face. I have vented and I will never recommend NMS to anyone!
