Many people are familiar with our “famous BLT” (Baloo the bear, Leo the lion and Shere Khan the tiger) who occupy the Clubhouse in their large habitat. What some people do not know is that Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary has about 1,500 other “club members” living in the 250-acre sanctuary in Locust Grove, Georgia which is about 45 minutes south of Atlanta, Georgia.

As for our #BLT, this unusual trio came to Noah's Ark in 2001 through the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) as bottle-fed cubs. All three are male and they live together, sleep together, and even eat together as a family. Leo is an African lion, but has no mane due to being neutered at an early age. Shere Khan is the tiger, and Baloo is an enormous cinnamon-faced North American black bear. "We just don't think you'll find this combination of animals living together anywhere else in the world," assures Jama Hedgecoth, founder and director of Noah's Ark. We would love for you to come to visit us here at Noah's Ark Clubhouse and say hello to Baloo, Leo, Shere Khan and all their friends.

Perhaps while you are here you would love to have a "behind the scenes tour" known as "The Walk On The Wild Side" tour (WOW). For just $75 per person (tax deductible), you can have a behind the scenes tour to learn about each animal and their story. This tour is perfect for the avid amateur photographer or those who just want to have a personally guided tour and be within just a couple of feet of a tiger, bear or lion. If conditions are favorable, enjoy a personal, up close encounter with our sweet little capuchins. These tours are provided Tuesday through Saturday at 11:00 AM. Reservations are required and should be made at least 48 hours in advance. There is a minimum of two per tour and a maximum of 10 (no children under 12 are allowed to take the tour at this time). To make your reservation today, contact Selena at 770-957-0888 Ext. 232.

Free to get in, always so donate!!! Only open short hours though and during hottest time of day so bring sunscreen and lots to drink! I've been in a lot of animal sanctuaries and this is by FAR the most beautiful, well maintained I've ever seen. I'd like to see a misting system installed for the bird aviaries for the hotter months but otherwise this place is absolutely spectacular! Lots of bears and several tigers. My favorite were the silver fox. Also quite a bit of walking though it is on a wide, well maintained path.

I love Noah's Ark! It's a great alternative to a zoo, and they work on donations, so just give whatever you can each time you go. I love taking my son there because it gives them a chance to see beautiful animals, while creating an opportunity to discuss how important it is to treat animals well.

Great place. Today was my first time with my 16month old and we had a blast. The variety of animals amazed me. Please please please leave a donation. Seeing as how it's free to enter it's a nice gesture in helping keeping the park open.

We've been to Noah's Ark twice now as a family--once when our child was about two and once a few weeks ago now that she's four. We love coming here because it is a casual, free (donations gladly accepted and needed) option for a family activity. I would recommend bringing LOTS of water on hot days and a stroller if you're going with young kids in tow. However, this is a great place to see the animals that Noah Ark has rehabilitated, nursed to back to health, and saved from somewhat dire situations. As with any location similar to this, be patient because there will be days that you come here and the animals might not be visible from the paths but if you take a couple of trips around you're sure to see some of the favorites! Noah's Ark also does a great job of sharing information about the animals onsite as well as making sure you can learn about their personal stories through the website. Overall, a great place!
