Nobu Atlanta
"Nobu Atlanta is situated at Phipps Plaza in the affluent Buckhead neighborhood. With influence from Atlanta's lush canopy of trees and Japanese arts and crafts, the bar and lounge area features a white onyx bar volume that sits in front of a 12-foot-long river rock art installation while folded cast glass pendants cast a soft glow on the bar. The dining room takes you to traditional Japanese garden pavilions that were often used for ceremonies and rituals while overscale pendants made from shoji paper create the look of elongated, abstracted paper lanterns. Design language that is a continuation of Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s imaginative and innovative culinary offerings celebrates nature and is integrated through the use of different wood tones"

I was very pleased with our experience. For me it’s one of those restaurants I’d go to for a birthday, date, first time experience, but not on a regular basis. For my first time i expected it was going to be expensive. I’ve heard lots of reviews of this restaurant mainly all positive so I had to see for myself. So glad we got to try it out. Beautiful restaurant, food was upscale and delicious. Our server Jeffrey was very knowledgeable and made excellent suggestions. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. I definitely recommend if you want to experience the cuisine. Just look at menu before you go it’s definitely not cheap but definitely worth a try. The black truffle risotto was the star so creamy and delicious. The drinks were just okay. My sister had the cod i think didn’t get a photo but whatever sauce it had it was very good. All the sauces were different and so good. I definitely would love to go back and try some other entrees.
I've heard many times about Nobu from my friends in LA but I never could visit it. We were looking for fine dining restaurants for our anniversary and found that there is Nobu in Atlanta but disappointed to see less than 4 star rating. wanted to give it a try though. It was about 30 min wait time on week day which was ok. The ambience was sad looking for the fine dining experience. it was more like bar except they made the entrance/waiting area beautiful. We tried fried okra with spicy tosazu, rock shrimp with yuzu and jalapeños , baby corn with truffle honey which were out of the world. We also had crispy fish taco, lobster taco. They were so soo tiny that I thought it was not worth ordering. I tried Leechi and elderflower martini not the best leechitini I have had, my husband had some blended whiskey which was priced more than 50$ he dint know any difference between the regular whiskey and this Again worth not ordering. Overall the food definitely had some creativity. That shrimp just stole my heart, I had to recreate it the next day no way near to what Chef Nobu created. *chef's kiss*
Lovely dining experience! I have been to many NOBU locations and this particular location is my new favorite. Iori Fujiwara was our incredibly impressive chef. His staff are amazing. The Lobster tempura was a work of art. The Toro melts in your mouth. The special of the day, the spring rolls with caviar on top and and onion salsa we're spectacular! Service could not have been better. Brianna, our server with a bubbly personality from Chicago made everything happen perfectly. We will ask for her section on our next visit. Thank you NOBU staff, chef, and management, for an exceptional experience!
Again, Nobu Atlanta was an amazing experience. I have to first comment on the staff. From the moment we walked in the door, everyone we encountered was friendly and welcoming. Good, as always, delicious. We had the yellowtail jalapeño but also tried the shishito pepper app this time. So good. And the sushi was on point. So fresh and tasty.
Incredibly delicious meal. The pace of service could have been a little faster for my taste, but I understand most of the folks dining at NOBU don’t want to get in and out quickly. The drinks are also out of this world. If you’re quibbling over the price in your review, clearly you’re better served going to the food court in the mall next door.
The food at Nobu was as good as everyone hypes it up to be. The A5 Wagyu was great, nigiri and maki and all that was top quality. I ordered Toro Tartare with Caviar and ended up cutting my tongue on a fish scale that was dropped in it, which I wouldn't have even mentioned if the sushi chef didn't see my face and overhear my conversation with my associate. He spoke to the executive chef who attempted to rectify the situation with some complimentary mochi, which wasn't of personal interest. We were also told we couldn't wear hats we were dressed business casual, but my associate had a designer cap on, so he had to go fix his hair and come back in. Then a couple sat next to us with graphic tees and beanies on, which apparently met the dress code ?. The manager was called over to address another concern about a cleaning lady going in the restroom while my associate was doing his business, because she stayed in there straightening up while he was at the urinal trying to wrap things up, which was uncomfortable. She remained in there while he finished and washed his hands and left. While the manager was there, he decided to take the tartare off the bill since it had the scale, which could've been an initial response, but glad it became a resolution by the end. The executive chef came over to sweet talk my associate, and had no interest in addressing me aside from a nod. I'm assuming he thought the fish scale issue was with his dish instead of mine. The server was reaching over us taking dishes while announcing himself, wiping things down, doing his job, just didn't have the level of attention you'd expect from a place of this caliber. Paying the check was another ordeal, because we were put on the same ticket instead of just ringing things up on a separate tab like we asked from the beginning. We ended up having to itemize our own receipt and tell him what amounts each of us had to pay. The whole process was pretty clunky. Beautiful place, great quality food, expert chefs, but random sloppiness that created a less than excellent experience. There are a lot of options in the area where I've never come across these problems, so I likely won't be bringing clients or business associates back here to dine. Can't wait to see what happens with valet.
Visited for my birthday dinner at 7:30 on a Wednesday. Upon arrival I was seated immediately. The interior was spacious, with an open kitchen concept. The server was attentive and knowledgeable. We enjoyed every recommendation, I wish I could remember his name! We ordered the yellowtail jalapeño, salmon/tuna tacos, black miso cod, crab roll, sautéed veggies & baked Alaska for dessert. Everything was delicious!
I woke up the next day wanting to go back to nobu. Salmon belly A+ Shrimp tempura and yellowtail rolls A+ Miso soup A Garlic veggies A+ Rice was soft and moist and perfect Bass B - the sauce was just ok but the fish was very fresh and a good size Lampchop C -sweet and the crunchy flakes were weird. I wasn’t ready. Flan A Plum wine, light sake, Grey Tea and Coffee A+ Do not have them freestyle a drink. Mine was not tasty at all. I don’t think the bartenders are mixologists. I would stick to what’s on the menu or order something neat / on the rocks Nam our waiter was phenomenal and he gets an A+++
During my recent business trip, I visited Nobu Dallas, a place I frequent often in Dallas. However, this time, I encountered more issues than ever before. The host's rudeness upon our arrival set a negative tone, and unfortunately, our server didn't improve the situation. To make matters worse, my business partner cut his tongue on a fish scale in the tuna tartare caviar dish. While mistakes happen, finding such a sharp scale in our food was alarming. The chef acknowledged the error after seeing the scale. In the midst of using the restroom, a cleaning lady entered and made eye contact but continued her tasks, causing an awkward encounter as we maneuvered around each other in the confined space. Additionally, I was reprimanded for wearing a hat that apparently didn't fit the restaurant's atmosphere. Despite speaking with manager Joshua, the resolution offered was minimal—a business card and assurance of addressing the issues with the team. It was frustrating to witness the inconsistency in enforcing the restaurant's standards. While we faced scrutiny, others nearby dressed in a manner that seemed to disregard the supposed dress code without consequence. Overall, this experience at the ATL location of Nobu was disappointing, and I'll be hesitant to return.
Nobu is always a to go restaurant for us. It is a high level restaurant without a doubt, therefore expectations are always high. I enjoyed Tirodito but I wish the lemon juice was not that dominant which suppressed the taste of the fish. I wasn’t expecting the octopus being fried, thumbs down here. I know we say “what else we can fry” in the US but octopus is great grilled, just go to a small Greek island to taste it, or I loved the way they do in the restaurant in Calle Cuba in Havana where they serve the grilled octopus in a bowl with chili pepper and lots of olive oil. Desserts were delicious as usual.
