Nolo's Kitchen & Bar
"Located in the North Loop neighborhood in Minneapolis, NOLO's Restaurant and Bar combines a refined twist on the classic neighborhood tavern. We feel that familiar food with a twist and a charismatic atmosphere should be a staple in your life. Our menu is straightforward, pasta made in front of guests at the chef's table, a burger made with Peterson's ground beef, entrees with ingredients that your grandmother can pronounce."

Went early on Saturday morning and followed the lead of the friend who suggested and ordered the Breakfast fried rice, a cinnamon sticky bun and a grapefruit mimosa. Perfect and filling. The fried rice was balanced with great flavors. The sticky bun was soft with a little bit of a crunch around the edge.Food: 5/5
Nothing fancy, but a solid restaurant with good food that has a hint of Asian fusion. It seems like they had been experimenting with some new dishes that they haven't quite perfect yet. I should have tried their seafood stew as my colleague didFood: 3/5
Food was good but nothing special. They were able to accommodate gluten free and vegetarian needs in our group. Pizza was very good but could be a little less floppy. Service was very good. Decor is minimalist and the noise level was high but you could still hold a conversation. Overall, an above average place and gets 3.5 clams on the coveted Five Quahog Rating Scale.
Great food, came here for brunch with my boyfriend. The service was amazing and the food is very good! Enjoyed my time here and would recommend it. Give the French toast a try!Food: 4/5
Went for lunch with my wife. We were hoping to enjoy the sunny warm day on their roof top patio. Unfortunately when we got there they said it was closed until July. They still had a patio on the side of the restaurant. Not as scenic, but it was nice being outside still. Despite not having the roof top patio open as we anticipated based on their website I’m still giving this place 5 stars. The food was incredibly delicious - flavorful and filling. We first got the Yucca fries appetizer. We were each going to get something after but the fries ended up more filling than we anticipated. Our server said the pizzas are definitely shareable so we just got a Smoked Chicken pizza. It was larger than I expected and those two items were plenty for the both of us and I normally eat a lot!. Both dishes were very good and I would come back for sure and even get the same thing again. I ordered a Salty Dog drink which my wife loved so she drank that. I had a Mister Tea and that was really good. I would recommend this place and look forward to going back again. Since it’s downtown just prepare/plan for parking if you’re driving as downtown is getting busy again.
Food was top notch. Service was a bit slow at first especially for an after brunch rush but it picked up nonetheless. Our waitress was really helpful and sweet! As for the ambiance, it would’ve been nice to have a more lively crowd but that’s not here nor there. Will return!Food: 5/5
THIS HAS BECOME A MINNEAPOLIS STAPLE FOR TOO MANY REASONS I've had difficulty figuring out where to begin this review. I reckon it's likely best to begin as most of us do, with breakfast. I have not ever had a breakfast item off the menu that didn't leave me splendidly satisfied. That said, I've never had a pizza nor chicken sandwich that I didn't love either. One of the biggest reasons why I will keep walking into this restaurant is the customer service. The food could be half as good, and I'd still come just because the staff is hospitable. A secondary reason is that their menu changes throughout the year. I love to see what the leadership and kitchen keep conjuring up!
Last visited 4/24/2022. Hanging out in Minneapolis for the weekend and it's a city well-known for it's brunches so that's what we do best here! Nolo's... or it's downstairs portion is better known as "The Basement Bar" is where today's adventure was, so here's how it went! I'm also choosing to write the review here because the restaurant shares the same kitchen. Anyway... moving on... Atmosphere/Appearance: Nolo's is actually the upstairs portion of this Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde style restaurant. The upstairs is brightly lit, beautifully organized, but as you walk to the back and head down the stairs you get to the REAL PARTY! We chose to go to the basement because at that time, that's where they offered the bottomless mimosas! The basement was very lively, a bit dark, but it was SO OPEN and just looked like more fun than upstairs! Lol. Service: I can't remember who took care of us, but she was awesome. There may have been 8 of us, but she kept the drinks coming, the food coming and made sure that we had everything that we needed to keep the party alive! Food: For my entrée I went with the Breakfast Fried Rice! It's composed of jasmine rice, breakfast sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, peas, sesame kale and yum yum sauce. It was DELICIOUS. It soaked up the alcohol perfectly and kept me going! While there I was also able to try out the Smoked Chicken Woodfired Pizza which consists of garlic cream sauce, fontina cheese, parmesan, roasted onions and herbs. This too was savory, creamy, garlicy and delicious. Value: Not too expensive at all. I mean, the more you drink the more you want to eat, so take that into consideration. Lol. In conclusion, I dug this place for real. It was down to Earth, real and it didn't try to be anything that it didn't want to. That's what I enjoyed most about it! There was no style we had to fit into or any certain way we had to act. We could be our loud, fun, drunk authentic selves down here in The Basement Bar of Nolo's.
Great food, ambient lighting and overall pretty decent food spot in north loop. Bar seating, boothes, tables n chairs and some chill couch seating as well. Crowd was extra gentrified, young and "basic" though and it was weird, but it could have just been that night. Staff were kind and thorough all around, from the hostess and bartenders to the servers. Heard the breakfast fried rice is amazing, but we went for dinner. Ricotta gnocchi was great and the drinks were good too. Street parking was available really close by and it was a Friday evening. Recommend.
I had a flatbread pizza and it was very tasty. This is a cool building. It used to be a Maytag store back in the day I believe. This is a super popular place to go in the North Loop. Be prepared to wait for a seat. They have bar seating as well as table seating. I like the people that come here. Everyone seems very nice, interesting and welcoming. All ages.
