This school is fine acedemic wise but some teachers here are rude as ever. There's a younger male teacher in the Math Center that yells at you and claims you have an attitude for coming into the math center to do work. He claims it disrupts class but on class courses it says you're allowed to go in there to do homework and get help. When I told him I wouldn't be coming back in there for how he treated me, he said, "Good because this is a class." If it's a class, why am I allowed to go in there per my other instructors to get help and WHY are your doors wide open with other students sitting at the tables with their phones out? Pathetic. Stay away from the math center. Or that teacher in general.

Normandale was such a disappointment I will never return to such a heartless school ever again. I just graduated from Highschool so college is all new to me and I got very little help and support from both my teachers and by the admissions and representatives working there. In fact, most of them couldn't even speak ENGLISH making it extremely hard to understand and then they get an attitude with you! That's not right at all. I don't think any of them really knew what they were doing to begin with, I don't think they even had a degree because they had absolutely no clue what classes I needed to take in order to earn my degree! I had to keep getting switched to someone else and then to someone else again and again because they didn't know anything! It was ridiculous! Get this; Once I was on hold with a rep and I heard some of the representatives in the background laughing at me and calling me "retarded"--So inappropriate! When I filed a complaint I never heard back from the president of that school when I told him my first experience there at Normandale--Nothing! They made it quite clear-----They really don't care about you their students; you're definitely on your own. I do not recommend Normandale College to anyone, especially for those of you who are newbies like myself. Thankfully, I switched to a different school (U of M) and what a difference! Nicer staff who are educated and experienced in the program their school has to offer. Also, Representatives were a whole lot nicer with a better attitude who knew what they were doing, and were properly educated. Sadly, I can't say the same for Normandale where both teachers and representatives both proved how very ignorant and unprofessional cold hearted people they really are who avoid eye contact with their customers/students and pretend like you don't even exist!! There is definitely something wrong there.......

I received my AA degree through Normandale and am now attending UND. I was accepted into a scholarship program called "finish line." Without that program I would have not be where I'm at now. It is hard to find a good advisor who points you in the right direction. Finish line gave me the resources I should have had regardless of the scholarship. If your not in the finish line program it is really hard to figure out what you need to be doing and where to transfer to, especially as a first generation college student. Professors are hit and miss and some are abasluty amazing and some are horrible. There is a big difference between going to a university and a community college. The professors are much more professional and educated at a university and the classes are much harder. Their is also manny more resources for guidance. If you plan on going to Normandale, 1. Apply to finish line (roughly 80% of applicants get admitted to get guidance and $500 a month) 2. Make sure your credits will transfer to where you plan on transfering to if you plan on it 3. Use rate my professor (an online page that will help you choose which professors to take classes with if you google "rate my professor" it will pop up and just type in your school and professor before you take a class with them)

I don't recommend this school to anyone at all. the school admission stuff are horrible and they all have bad attitude to the point where they don't even look at you when they're talking to you. Today, I went to the school to take the placement test for spring classes. This woman that was sitting at the desk demanded my ID before even saying hi back. I didn't even make it a big deal out of it and went on to take the test. After i finished they gave me the pink slip and told me to go back to admission. I came to admission and once they saw me they told me to have a seat. The same woman that told me to have a seat started reading the test to someone that was behind me. The question I have is why would she tell me to have a seat and starts reading the test to someone else? did she think I didn't speak English or she didn't like the way I looked or dressed? They are all raciest. I saw three women today and they all treating me like trash. When I told my friend about it she said why didn't you talk to me about the school before you applied. she said that she went there for one semester and she regarded it. she also said the teachers are even worse. I am so glad I still have enough time to apply for another school. I am OK with starting the process all over again rather than feeling hated and unwelcomed. Specially foreign are unwanted so let me save you sometime and find another school.
