When a business is this genuine, I feel like I need to tell the world!! I highly recommend. I am a lock-out regular: I lock myself out of my apartment, car, office, you name it. I can ALWAYS rely on North Idaho Lock and Key to help me out. Not only that, but they try so hard to keep me from locking myself out in the future. Key duplicates, key hideaways, and their suggestions really show that they pay attention. I would give an example, but then you would know where my hideakey is ON MY CAR! Great value, great service. Love'em. Thank you guys! YOU ROCK!!!

Ryan, I am a locksmith. What you paid is $5.00 cheaper than what you would have paid at our shop. The blank is $15.00, the code work at our shop is $15.00. So you would have paid $45.00 at our shop for two keys and the code work. Sounds like you got a good deal at your local shop. Perhaps you should be thankful for the local service that your GM dealer could not fulfill in its entirety, a locksmith did.

I went to GM to get a chevy key made. they looked up the codes and said they dont have the blanks for my car. they gave me all of the coding needed to cut the key and sent me to north idaho lock and key. The guy said he was going to double check the codes to make sure. he got on his computer and 2 seconds later: yup all good. boght two keys he cut for 15 per. he wrote up the invoice and on the bottom was a total of $40. just above that was a charge he threw in of $10 for "code work". because i am an idiot i paid it. Avoid this place if possible.

Barry April 27 2011 Ryan: we recieved a call from GM dealer asking what the cost of our high security VATS keys were. We told them that they were $15.00 each.When Ryan came over we confirmed the code specifications, as we always do so that the customer doesn't have to do this process twice,and that we do not waste two very expensive blanks. We did not charge for this. We did however charge him$10.00 for the code cutting of the key ,which is not the same as copying a key . It is made from scratch with equipment that costs aprox. $5,000. The only other option for Ryan would have been to go to C'dA or Spokane to get his key made. We are happy to provide this service for Ryan saving him a 90 mile round trip to C'dA or a 150 mile round trip to Spokane ,, and any where fom a half to full day on the road Glad we could help!
