The surgery for the bladder sling was done properly. However, the instructions given for the "kegel' exercise did not help. I finally went to a urologist in Spokane who referred me to the physical therapist at Kootenai Medical ( McGrane therapy building). She specializes in correcting incontinence. I have been only working with her 2 weeks and already have an improvement. The problem is as follows; PHYSICIANS ARE GIVING THEIR PATIENTS THE WRONG INFO ON HOW TO DO THE EXERCISES. When I informed her of my previous instructions her response was she thought they had stopped giving that info 20 years ago!!! You do NOT try to shut off the stream. You lift inside to strengthen the muscles (there are several). I even understand doctors are giving the old way info to new mothers. COME ON DOCTORS GET THE RIGHT INFO FOR YOUR PATIENTS.
