The most excruciating work application process ever, you have to chase the HR for a long time to hear from them. It’s like they’re not interested in the applicants or something. Never had to go through a hiring process where I had to desperately try and get ahold of the hiring manager. Please ask the local nursing home HR’s how they handle applications in a timely manner and respectful fashion.
Probably the worst place you could go for psychiatric needs. Staff was emotionally abusive towards patient in psychosis, the psychiatrist never even checked on patient in a month span of their stay. This place caused more damage and harm to patient, leaving patient with more trauma than they had before. 3 years after being inpatient and the patient still has flashbacks and nightmares of this hospital. I would highly recommend going elsewhere if possible, especially if you have psychosis. They would rather joke around and entertain themselves by emotionally abusing a patient into believing a false reality instead of helping them come out of it. Very sad and disappointing this is how America treats mental health crisis.. They cause more harm than good. I pray all of the workers understand how horrible they can treat patients and have changed. Looking at past reviews, it doesn’t seem like much has changed. Just sad.
My daughter had a crisis and was sent here, she wasn’t even here for a full day and was prescribed a horrible medication that makes her not well mentally and she really wanted to get out of there so she said she had to pretend it was to working so she could leave. The doctor here said whoever diagnosed her with adhd was “stupid” and she doesn’t have it. Yes, she does. Multiple providers who has seen her longer, got to know her, and evaluated her way better then under 12 hours have witnessed this. She was also prescribed vitamins when she was only slightly anemic all my children take a complete multivitamin at home and he said she’s probably deficient in everything when she also isn’t. My daughter also said she wasn’t the only child prescribed this medication she’s on and other peers were also on the same one so that’s a little concerning that that particular medication is just thrown around when it’s not a good medication just to put someone on without proper evaluation and time. I now have a child that’s a zombie and talks to herself and not makes any sense a good quarter of the time and cries easier than before at everything. She also still has all her adhd symptoms. The most this medication does is make her sleep and I feel like she could have just stuck with her melatonin regimen her provider instructed if that was the case. Other than that she DID make friends so I’m happy to hear that and the staff was amazing here and I thank you for treating my daughter so well and being consistent with keeping me updated.
Was turned away from care at this facility. Stated reason from them is that it was "due to patient's insurance" my insurance is Mainecare at this time as I am disabled and awaiting Medicare coverage. I think it's dreadful that this practice is allowed to continue. It's downright discrimination. Be aware that this facility is doing this behind closed doors. Wonder what else they hide. Advocate for yourself people, and hold facilities like this accountable for this kind of thing.
I contacted NM Medical Center because I was considering moving to North Maine. I need neurology care which they don't offer, though. Despite this, they communicated with me promptly and so politely and with helpful advice. I'm sad that they probably won't be the doctors I end up working with! They came across so warm and polite.
My son lacerated his foot so we rushed to NMMC and the staff were great! Prompt care, professional and personable staff, and spot on treatment. We're really grateful for the care he received.
This dump should be closed down. Doctors and staff are a joke. Plus if you don't pay enough each month on bill you get turned into a collections .
Went to Emergency room/OB, ketones were 160, failed to say anything about that. Didn’t check for cervix dilation, come to find out, she was 2cm dilated when she got checked at northern lights in presque isle the day after. Overall the emergency room was good, but the OB failed to detect preterm labor with her contractions, and I hope we never have to go there for an emergency with our baby again.
This is the worst hospital, I have ever been to.They treat veterans like they are 2nd tier citizens. Do not use this ER ever.
I have never had a worse experience during an inpatient stay in my life. I had no problem with the nurses and cna's, but my provider never actually paid attention to what I was saying and experiencing.
