When I was diagnosed with nasal cancer I was at a loss as to what to do. But the doctors who came to treat me worked as a team, putting my fears to rest and assuring me that I could survive this terrible disease. The four clinic doctors worked closely together and met me and my family as a team, as well as individually. Frankly, as a cancer patient then, and cancer survivor now, I found not only the finest medical care, but also was able to use community assistance services, such as counseling, the YMCA LiveStrong program, physical therapy, dietary and many more assets to helping me defeat my cancer. There are also activities at the cancer center that bring many survivors together to share and learn from each others' experiences. Knowing that one is not alone makes a huge difference in the over all treatment process. I am both pleased and grateful to the wonderful services, people and care at the Cancer Center at Kishwaukee Community Hospital. My family is as well.
