Story

The Yellowstone Main Post Office in Yellowstone National Park was built in Mammoth Hot Springs as part of a facilities improvement program by the United States Post Office Department. The post office in Yellowstone was nominated to the National Register of Historic Places as part of a thematic study comprising twelve Wyoming post offices built to standardized USPO plans in the early twentieth century. The Yellowstone facility is an understated classical structure with a low hipped roof and rounded dormers that uses a plan and a basic design vocabulary similar to that used in other post offices in the program. It is somewhat at odds with the prevailing design theme expressed in other buildings in the former Fort Yellowstone district.

Called their direct line regarding a package, spoke to a pleasant lady who was very helpful in letting me know why it wasn't delivered. (Tracking said the receptacle was blocked, it turned out the sender hadn't paid the full cost of the shipment and I had to pay a few dollars to pick it up). When I came in to pick up my package hours later, she remembered me from the phone call and had my package ready. Very good customer service.

They are flying the American flag with an MIA POW flag on the same pole on August 1st. Pretty sure that's against policy as well as defamation to the flag.

I would like to have spoken to an operator, a HUMAN being! I had a simple question about a money order. I was on the phone 10 minutes and there is still NO answer to my question! Modern technology is not always a plus!!!

HORRIBLE!! This location needs to be shut down. I had a package scheduled for delivery for Saturday Oct 1st "by the end of the day". I live in a locked building so I requested that the carrier left my package at the front door. I wasted my ENTIRE Saturday at home so I could get my package. Mail runs around 5PM. I never receive my package. 6PM comes around and at this point I'm livid. I call USPS and was told that if mail already ran I probably won't get my package until Monday and because the tracking information is scanned by a computer and not a person there's a chance my package was never even really out for delivery. Umm....seriously?!! A complaint was put in. Then at 7:16PM the tracking information updates saying they tried to deliver but the mail receptacle was blocked. Well that's funny because my package was not going in a "mail receptacle" it was supposed to be left at the front door. What I believe happened is the unprofessional carrier forgot my package on his truck and forgot to deliver it and then when he got back to the station an saw my package sitting there he came up with a lie to try and cover his butt. So ridiculous! I put another complaint in about that. And to make matters worse, it's Monday and USPS still has not updated my tracking information. I requested to pick up my package because I REFUSE to deal with that again and I have not received any information on when I can get my package or even WHERE to pick it up!! The only reason I know its the Norwood location is because of the zip code on my tracking information. I can't believe how unprofessional they are! If I could give NO stars I would! From now on I will pay EXTRA in order to never have to get a package by UPS or USPS because this is not the first time I've dealt with ridiculousness from them. ONLY GO FEDEX!!!!!!
