The food: I got the jerk chicken. It was served over white rice with a side of mac n' cheese, string beans and cornbread. Oh my goodness it was delicious! the chicken had a nice smokey flavor and literally fell off the bone.  The mac n' cheese was also amazing.  The green beans were great as well.  This restaurant is exactly what this area desperately needs.

The service and atmosphere:  This place is still pretty new and clearly needs to work out a few kinks.  Seating is limited (that's out of their control) but the atmosphere is quite warm (was that jazz music playing in the background?).  The two guys were really working hard to make the place run and it showed.  Is there room for improvement? sure.

Conclusion: Go there for the food- It's amazing and the portion is quite generous. They have some kinks to work out as all new businesses do, but they'll get there.  These guys were working hard and I'm happy to support a local small business- especially one owned by a veteran.

Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Fried chicken was bland, plain and very dry. Cabbage flavor was like it was being served in a nursing home, plain and nothing soul about it! Mac n cheese, someone threw in some shredded cheddar for the illusion of craftsmanship and baked it. The cornbread is more like corn cake, definitely from a box. Nice owner but you gotta know how to cook to call your business a soul restaurant and this places sorely misses the mark. Oh and that $6 in change you didn't give me, keep it, I think you're gonna need it.

Hey just checked out the Nu soul food place over by my school the food was delicious and I really enjoyed it. I told few of my Friends at school RCBC already and we will definitely be making our way  for lunch on a regular basis.
