Number One Volunteer Fire Department ,Has been responding to fire, emergency medical,and rescue , protecting our community since the fall of 1981.
During the fall of 1981 , what would become our service area was declined fire service from the neighboring cities and forced to depend on the fire services of the sumner county fire department , which at that time was too far away form our community to respond quickly during an emergency. A concerned group of neighbors began meeting in the cages bend area and banded together to form the Number One Volunteer Fire Department. Since then, the department has been responding to fire, emergency medical, rescue, and hazarduos materials events, protecting our community 24 hours a day , every day of the year!
